(Tams pov) March 19th, 2018

I was laying with Keefe on the couch watching human movies when a sudden knock interrupts us.

"I'll go get it, don't move." I get up, throwing a blanket over Keefe's head. As I walk to the door, I wonder who would be here at 1 A.M. Maybe Linh and Sophie came to watch movies with us? I open the door to see the twelve people I never thought I'd see right now.

The Councillors.

All twelve of them, formally dressed in circlets and fancy dresses and tunics. They look at me in disgust. Emery grabs a scroll from his pocket and reads to me out loud.

"Keefe Sencen and Tam Song have been accused of being in a relationship, which is illegal because it defeats the purpose of matchmaking. Mr. Song and Mr. Sencen are being called to a tribunal on Tuesday, March 22nd at 6:00 P.M. This is not optional and will affect your futures drastically. There are no negotiations to be held about the date nor time." Emery finishes reading and hands me the scroll, which I hold tightly, trying not to lose my temper. "Please pass the message onto Mr. Sencen as soon as possible. Good night."

Council leaps away before I can react, and I close the door, heading back to the couch where Keefe is.

"Are you okay, Tammy? I could feel your anger and worry from across the room." Keefe's concern is genuine, and I remember that this is because of us, and it makes me even more mad.

"Here. This'll explain most of it. The Council's crap decision is the reason we're gonna be in a huge mess that they'll probably cover up because the Council's a bunch of a-holes." I start rambling as Keefe reads, his eyes darting down the paper. His fists clench as tears streak down both of our cheeks. His eyes lock with mine, but they aren't fearful or sad like I thought they'd me. They were determined. He holds my hands in his and gives me a determined smile.

"Look, Tam. Nothing the dumb Council throws at us will be worse than the Neverseen. And we'll have each other, so we'll get through this. No matter what happens, I still love you, forever until our eternal lives end." He kisses me softly and I kiss him back, glad to have some reassurance in the matter.

"I love you too, Keefe. Now, let's finish our movie. Even though the Tribunal is more serious than Sophie's were-at least to us, anyways-we can and will get through this together. If we're lucky, the verdict will be something small, like community service." I hugged him, hoping that the Tribunal would go well and that nothing would ever change between us.

We never finished the movie, we simply cuddled and talked about tomorrow, and we fell asleep in each other's arms.

A/N- This is my first ever fanfic. This is Kam, if you couldn't tell too. This contains some homophobia, loss of friendship, and sad Kam. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy this, and I am also open to friendly criticism. Thanks! P.S I'm bad at making up store names, so I might use real places or at least base if off of them. Thank you for reading!
