Many Moons Later

(Keefe pov) June 28th, 2019

A whole year has passed since we came to the Forbidden Cities, and we were very happy after adjusting. Life was peaceful, free, and somewhat stress free, at least people-trying-to-kill-us related.

That was, until we got a letter from the Council. It told us a few key things, but otherwise, somewhat useless, (like my dad).

Keefe and Tam,

We have realized our mistake, and your friends here have convinced us to let you back. You can return, as long as you follow our conditions.

1) You have to resume at Foxfire (no pranks, or else!)

2) You have to have your own home

3) You cannot join the Nobility for twenty years after graduation

Other than that, the restrictions are very loose. If you do decide to return, come back from June 30th to July 6th.

Best Wishes,

The Council

Their requests aren't absolute shit, and Tam and I decide to tell all of our friends that we're moving to Europe because my family lives there and we're not coming back. Linh, Wylie, and Biana got the same messages and also decided to come back. So we packed our things, (human stuff too) and went to the Lost Cities a few days later.

Life was peaceful, Tam and I lived in a nice house that we painted and decorated ourselves. The house was built by gnomes, but none of them helped with anything other than that. By September, our home was beautiful and comfortable, not dark and hard to live in.

Our home was the opposite of the ones we grew up in. It was light, airy, cozy, and hand built. Nearby was a river that connected to a waterfall that cascaded down a ravine, going hundreds of feet down.

Our friends visited often, mostly Linh and Biana, with Dex and Fitz coming occasionally. We celebrate our monthly anniversaries by giving gifts and doing special things for each other.

About a year later, our lives are normal again, and we're together, where we wanted to be since the beginning.

~The End~

I don't really think I ended this well, so if you would like to take this story further you can, but you have to tag me and ask first! Thanks for reading and sticking with me for this story. Happy 2023, everyone!
