homesick

You start college and keep denying that you are homesick.

"(City) is great. Too many people. More pollution possibilities. Hardly able to walk anywhere without going miles. Love it here," I sighed, knowing BFF/N saw right though me.
"Do you at least like your classes? How are you getting along with your classmates and roomies?"
"They are fine. I just miss you guys and home. I'll be fine though."
"Y/N. I don't understand why you don't talk to anyone else besides me and your family. At least try to get along with them."
"You know how I am. I'm not good at that."
"At least try, for me. I'll see you this weekend. I need to get to class," I hung up and sighed, turning on my playlist.

C/N POV
"You can come in," r/guy/N led me into his girlfriend's apartment and they both plopped onto the couch. I heard something from a closed door. "That's probably just Y/N, my roommate. What do you want to watch?" I walked over to the door and heard her singing.
I pushed the door open and saw the girl sitting beside her bed. Tears fell from her lashes as she sang to the song. She heard the door open and she stopped suddenly, wiping her eyes.
"I'm sorry. I heard you singing and..."
"What are you doing in my apartment?"
"Your roommate's boyfriend brought me over. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Just a little homesick I guess. I'm also not used to having an audience," her cheeks went pink.
"I didn't mean to intrude. Do you mind if I stay? I would rather not deal with those two making out on the couch," she laughed and nodded.
"I would agree."

I went home after a few hours then woke up right before my 8am class. I smiled as I saw a familiar brunette in the classroom.
"Hey Y/N. I didn't think we had any classes together."
"I didn't think so either," she looked down at her notebook.
"You okay?"
"Y...yeah. Just a lot on my mind,"
"Meet me in the library after class," she nodded and the teacher started class.

"Where are we going?"
"You'll see," I led her up the stairs to the third floor of the library. She looked around and smiled. She paused in the doorway, staring out the large windows. "This is my favorite spot on campus. Very few people come up here because no one talks about it. You can even see people through the dome," I pointed over the railing and I saw the faint design of the ceiling visible to people on the lower floors.
"Woah," she breathed and looked around. "This is amazing."
"I'm glad you enjoyed it. If I'm not in class, I'm either here or in my dorm. Let me know if you need anything," he slipped a piece of paper in my coat pocket and walked out the door.

A few days later, Y/N POV
"I have a party in a few hours and this place is a wreak. What are you still sitting around for?"
"I've kept my area picked up and I'm currently doing homework. Why are you so upset?" I ignored her flashy almost non-existent outfit she was wearing.
"Why am I so upset? Honestly (not Y/N), don't you of all people understand popularity standards?"
"I know the opposite side of the spectrum from you."
"Fine, let me educate you. I have all of the parties, you do the cleaning before and after as well as my homework. Remember that contract I had you sign to even be in my presence in this arrangement?”
"Actually that was talking about the split money on rent that you also haven't been helping with."
"That's because I'm already paid for."
"Then daddy's money can also provide a maid for you. That isn't my job."
"You signed the contract," she whined.
"Fine. I'll clean up everything and do your homework for you before doing my own," I smiled and she squealed. "Just give me a minute to figure out how I'm am going to do this," she closed the door and I heard her on the phone bragging about how good of a 'roommate' I am. I grabbed my backpack and suitcases and began to pack.
I finished after a few minutes and walked out into the living room.
"You can start in the kitchen. I've run out if dishes," I looked in there and cringed.
"I have everything so I'm good to go," she agreed and I walked out of the apartment.
"Wait just one minute. You have no right to leave right now."
"When will I be eligible to not be your slave?"
"Never. I need you, (not Y/N)."
"That is still not my name. If your still so upset, ask your dad for extra money for that maid."
"Go on ahead and leave. You have no where to go. You are nothing without me."
"I'm glad to be nothing then. At least I'm something to myself," I whirled around on my heel and went to the elevator. I noticed the entire hallway of girls glaring at me and I shrugged.

I went to the library's third floor and crashed on a couch. The next morning I went to the main building and told them what happened.
"We can cancel your money but there isn't anywhere for you to go on campus. You would have to unenroll.
"I'll find somewhere to live in the meantime."
"The only place would be where you were just last night. I don't understand why you had to be so rude about your living situation..."
"She called here to complain?"
"Yes. She said you walked out after she asked you to clean up."
"Yeah, I did. She wanted to... Nevermind. I won't try to waste my breath on another supporter. I'll find somewhere to live."
"Just so you know, we can count you as loitering if you try to sleep outside or in public spaces like the library for example," I nodded and walked outside. Snow started to fall as I walked to the other side of campus to the library. I was busy arguing with myself on my options when I heard someone behind me.
"Y/N, wait up," I stopped as the crunching of snow continued behind me.
"Hey C/N."
"I thought your dorm was that way," he pointed from the way I came from.
"I'm going to the library."
"On a snowy Saturday with all of your stuff packed? What really happened or does the quitting 'maid' want to keep quiet because no one believes her?"
"I don't want to talk about it," I turned and kept walking. The snow was falling heavier now and there was a few inches of the powder stacked up.
"This way," he walked down another path.
"You'll get in trouble with her highness," I mocked and he kept walking.
"Either follow me or I'm dragging you along," I rolled my eyes and followed him. He paused at one of the houses on campus and opened the door.
"Does R/guy/N live here?" He snorted and shook his head.
"He live in the dorms then moved in with her the moment you guys got done arguing. Guys, I brought some surprises," there was a thunder of footsteps and several guys ran into the kitchen. He gestured for me to stay. "Go get some cloths on. There will be plenty of donuts when you get back," I didn't notice the boxes he was holding.
"Why do we have to wait for them?" One groaned.
"Because I have another surprise for you guys," he waited until the last guy walked down the stairs. He took my hand and pulled me into the kitchen. "This is Y/N. She's going to live with us for a while," all of the guys agreed, surprisingly, and we ate.
C/N took me to my room and I sat at the desk.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"If you need anything, my room is the only one downstairs," I nodded and he went to leave. "I know it would probably be a little more weird but would you like to be my girlfriend?" I smiled and hugged him.
"Sure as long as you like dating a criminal," he kissed my forehead.
"Your too cute for jail," I blushed and he smirked. He opened the door and all of the guys were standing outside.
"When's the wedding?"
"Is this the real reason you brought her here?"
"Can she cook better than you?"
"Really Jack? At least I know you don't cook pizza rolls in the microwave for ten minutes on a plastic plate. I was actually going to ask because I know how bad she and her boyfriend treated you," he looked down at me and I smiled.
"You didn't answer the wedding part."
"Or the cooking."
"You won't find out until later unless you keep irritating us so you'll have to find something to eat on your own," I shut the door and C/N laughed. "What's so funny?"
"I was worried that you were going to be pushed around by them. Now I don't have to," I rolled my eyes and he glanced down to my lips. I wrapped my arms around him.
"Just so you guys know, we got company," I pulled away and C/N went to the door. I went downstairs and the receptionist went silent.
"All you said was that you could see when I'm loitering. I was invited here."
"And you are to be expelled for your lack of compliance."
"I did nothing wrong."
"We won't expell you unless you can't keep your grades up."
"How's that difficult?" The receptionist giggled.
"Not you I'm worried about. All of their grades too."
"Deal now please leave us alone," I shut the door and turned to look at the guys. "How are your grades?"
"Good enough to stay on the basketball team. She doesn't check them anyway. "

By the end of the semester, all of the guys had majority A's and a few B's. The receptionist was fired for fraud or lying about her records. Something similar. R/N and her friends and boyfriend were expelled and not allowed to return to college there. For the rest of my college years, there were no more issues.

A little abrupt but this one needed to be finished. I hope you guys enjoyed it!
