"I don't want to go." Hayden whined softly, she didn't want to go back to school, not so soon after losing her mother. "Mama and I never got to do back to school shopping."

"Hayden, we went last weekend." Sara said. "We got your clothes and shoes and bag and lunch box and pencils and pens and everything else, remember."

Hayden instantly shakes her head. "We went without mama. It doesn't count."

"Hayden, you have to go to school. Flick, your dad, and I, we all have to go to work and there won't be anyone here to look after you." Sara said.

"No!" The ten year old snaps out, crossing her arms.

"Yes." Sara said. "Go get dressed now."

"I don't have to listen to you! You're not mama!" Hayden yells out.

"That's right, I'm not your mama. Your mama is dead." Sara snapped out, not meaning too.

Hayden instantly tensed, her eyes widening before she turns and runs to her room.

Sara realised what she had said. "Oh no." She mumbled to herself.

"Seriously Sara?" Oliver asks from the door to his and Nyssa's room.

Sara turned her head to look at Oliver as Felicity came out of the bathroom, her hair wet from the shower.

"You can't just say shit like that." Oliver said before heading toward Hayden's room.

"What happened?" Felicity asked.

Sara swallows thickly and turns to face Felicity. Telling her what had just happened before looking down.

Felicity pulled Sara into a hug, without a word.

"I didn't mean to say it." Sara whispered, burying her face in Felicity's neck.

"I know, baby." Felicity whispered. "We all say things we don't mean."

Sara fought back a sob as she gripped onto Felicity.

Felicity held her close.

Oliver walked into the living room and stopped in front of them. "I think I'm going to retire. Stay home and take care of the kids."

Felicity looked up at him. "But you love your job."

"I love my kids more, and they need me. Especially now." Oliver responds softly.

"We should all take some time off." Felicity said. "We all need it."

Nodding his head, Oliver closed his eyes just as Alice walked into the room.

"Daddy." The little girl whimpered out, tears in her eyes.

Oliver turned, bent down in front of her and pulled her into his arms.

The four year old instantly curls into him, a soft sob escaping her.

"Shh." Oliver cooed.

"Mama." Alice cries out.

"I know. I miss her too." Oliver whispered.

The four year old clings to him as she cries.

Felicity's pager beeped.

Oliver looks up at her.

Felicity checked her pager, frowning.

"What is it?" Oliver asks, shifting Alice on his hip.

"911, I have to go.' Felicity said.

Sara's pager then beeped too. "Me too." She says.

"Go, we'll see you when you guys get home." Oliver said.

Felicity kissed his cheek and quickly headed for the door.

Sara followed, not meeting Oliver's eyes.

Alice had settled down, her thumb in her mouth and her face buried in Oliver's neck.

Oliver kissed her cheek. He didn't know what to do. "I love you." He whispered.
