Inside the tower
No one's POV
Our protagonist was walking deeper and deeper into the forest as the sun was setting in the west. While he neutralized every slime he encountered along the way, some existence began moving towards him, preparing for an ambush, as he moved further into the woods.
Aarav's POV
My journey deeper into the forest was marked by the appearance of more and more slimes. I was starting to get tired of fighting all these slimes so I decided to take a short break on a tree branch where slimes are unable to reach. Sitting down on the branch, I decided to take a look at the spoils that were dropped as a result of all the fighting that had happened earlier. The majority of it was pink crystals, which was not uncommon. However, one drop was different. It was a page, to be exact, a skill page.
[Skill Page..........Skill - Blaze Arrow(D)]
[Requirments - Fire Attribute, Level 5 and above]
Right now, only a few skill pages are known to exist in this world, so I couldn't believe my luck when I found it lying on the ground. However, looking back now, it seems I was not so lucky. I got a D-Rank aggressive skill and I couldn't even use it. I kept it in my bag. I also counted the crystals I got. Selling these crystals is currently a player's biggest source of income as they sell for a very high price.
A few weeks back, some scientists discovered that these crystals are monster cores and can generate a huge amount of energy. As soon as power-related companies and industries from all over the globe heard of this discovery, they tried to purchase all these crystals from the players which resulted in skyrocketing crystal prices.
Getting back to the topic at hand, I climbed down the tree and resumed my search for the mystery monster. Suddenly, I heard a roar from a distance.
'Slimes don't roar' was my first thought.
The roar caught my interest, so I drew my katana and sneakily crept toward its source. It didn't take me long to find myself in a small clearing surrounded by trees. A big stone was in the middle of the clearing, and something was lying on it. It was green in colour. At first, I thought it was dead slime but when I got closer to the rock to see what it was, it suddenly charged at me. Thanks to my speed, I was able to dodge that attack. But when I turned my head to face the opponent, shivers ran down my spine just looking at it.
(Once again I am not particularly skilled at description. Picture above)
It was big, big enough to swallow a full-grown adult in one bite, and by the blood stains near its mouth, it knew it too. At that moment, my mind stopped working and my brain's native function of fight or flight kicked in which, in this case, was flight. The creature roared again telling me I couldn't escape without a fight when I tried to find an escape route. I started taking deep breaths to calm myself down all while looking straight at the monster, noticing its every movement. Once my heart rate returned to normal, I looked at the unknown monster's description.
[Floor 1 guardian - Mega Slime]
[Defeat the guardian to unlock the boss room]
'If just the guardian is this terrifying, I can't imagine what the boss will look like,' I thought in terror. Still, I prepared my sword to fight.
After staring at each other for a long time, I finally made my move. I sped up towards it and swung my sword at its head with full force. When I tore a bit of skin off the mega slime with my attack, I smirked.
