Bullets pierce through the many shades of brown.
Each taking away the eagle's strength and crown;
Doomed to be chained to the acts of injustice, 1968.

Fire blazes in each pounding heart
As the drown out yells of injustice
Leave the mighty eagle torn apart.

The eagle seeks its friend the dove
Whose peaceful nature comes from above.
For she quenches the flames of hatred
And sends it to the pit of extinction.

So, I sit here, tear stained
and weak,
To find out what was once a
Great eagle,
Be reduced to something
so weak.
