Lesso was sitting in the library, reading a book in the peace and quiet that was caused by how scary the librarian could be.
Well, it was, until Nina appeared.
Lesso could swear the woman stalked her, by the amount of times they bumped into each other it wasn't coincidence anymore.

Instead of causing chaos like normally, the woman grabbed one of the books on the shelves and sat down in another aisle, she one next to lesso's, so she could still see her.
Lesso frowned slightly, this wasn't like her, but again, even the most energetic people had their borders they could not cross.
But, it was when the auburn woman sniffed that she noticed she was crying.
It was as if she hadn't noticed her, but the dean knew that it would be a small possibility.
But, it was still a possibility.
She sighed, closing her book and standing up to join the other.
As she sat down next to Nina, on a chair next to her, the woman looked up at her.
" I can leave if you want." She mumbled, already closing her book to leave as lesso opened hers and crossed her legs.
" no need." Nina stopped her move to stand up, instead placing her legs over the arm of the chair again and opening her book without much more words.
They read in silence, and lesso was getting more concerned about the woman with the second.
A fairy flew into their aisle, tapping Nina, and dropping a pile of books onto her stomach without much of a warning.
Instead of lashing out, she placed her book on the chair and held the pile in her hands as she stood up, placing it onto the coffee table.
She sat back down, starting to read again as the fairy flew away, then she snapped her fingers and the books shot into their original places on the shelves.
Lesso was slightly shocked at how calm Nina was acting, but then shrugged it off and continued to read.

As even more time passed, the sky started to darken.
Lesso was about to stand up when she noticed Nina, who still hadn't moved, and was still not gibbing a sign that she would go to bed, not leave the library soon.
She decided to stay, for old times sake, and pick out a new book.
She wandered down the aisle, her finger tracing over the back of the books, some slightly burned, others cracked.
She found one she wanted to read, and turned to Nina to ask her opinion, only to find the woman gone.

" oh for fucks sake!"
" shhhhh"

Lesso was still annoyed at Nina for leaving so suddenly the next day, when the auburn haired woman ran into her once again.
" hey-!" Lesso cut her off, grabbing her throat and slamming her against the wall.
She refrained from asking about the sudden dissapearence instead opting to glare down at her.
Nina struggled, trying to get out, but lesso had her held up and away from the ground.
When she stopped, she started staring back at lesso, slowly starting to redden. -just not from the lack of air, because she had enough air, just not enough for lesso's beauty.-
Her ears started to turn into lesso's hair color, her cheeks only a slight rosy shade.
" could you let me go? Please?" She put on her best puppy face, and lesso could almost hear her familiar approaching from further down the hall.
She glanced down the hall, and as she predicted, there stood a beige lion, with slightly whiter wings that were folded to its sides.
" sure." She grumbled, letting her go, only for her to fall to her knees.
She stalked away, leaving Nina to gather her thoughts and try cut out anything remotely close to lesso.
She failed, but her familiar was quick to grab her collar and pull her up again.
" did you see her?" She whispered at him, the lion lowly growling with a roll of his eyes.
" Ilay, did you see her!" She whispered slightly harder, getting strange looks from other students.
Ilay pushed her towards the doors, eventually grabbing her collar again and shooting out of the doors as Manley bursted through the other side of the hall.
" NINA!"

Nina arrived at her dorm, opening the window and climbing in, then opening the door to her balcony so Ilay could join her.
The beast went to lay down in front of the fire, Nina closing the door and grabbing her book before she went to join him.
As she settled down next to him, leaning into his soft side, the fire sparked into her direction, landing on the carpet.
It was enough to shock Ilay, who shot back, Nina's back now flat on the floor.
She groaned and held the back of her head, then crawled over to her chair so sprawl herself out onto it.
Ilay looked at her apologetically, she waved him off.
He went to lay back in front of the fire, Nina starting on her book.

She couldn't get far, her thoughts drifting off to a certain redhead.
She missed the woman, they used to be friends.
But then when they graduated they weren't, and when Nina started traveling and lesso became dean, she never answered to her letters.
Nina continued sending letters to the woman, who kept ignoring them.
Every week, she would sent at least one letter, and she would always make sure it was spelled with some kind of foreign 'smell' spell, that made the letter smell like wherever she was.
But, of course, she discovered that lesso had just stashed all the letters in one of her drawers, leaving them unopened and to gather dust.

That was the start of her heartbreak, and somehow lesso kept adding to it, and then feeding her crush with girlfriend material to make her think she at least liked her, only for her to go back to ignoring her.

It wasn't funny to her, never was, but of course, lesso didn't love her, never would, never will.
