It's Christmas, and it's the one time Nina is at her absolute highest peak of hyper.

That could be seen by lesso, who had to hold the woman back when she was about to set fire to one of yuba's trees.
Saying 'that's a bit too far', and effectively replacing her intrusive thoughts with lesso.
So, dovey decided it was a perfectly not-going-to-ever-fail idea to make lesso watch out for Nina.
Which basically meant she was supposed to watch her while trying to stop her from making it snow even more than it already is, because 'it's only snowing romantically! It's supposed to be fun not romantic!'.
Turns out you can't stop a woman who wants snow, because five seconds later, against all warnings, she made it snow harder.
And within another five minutes, it went back to the romantic snow with a huge layer of snow on the ground.
Students already started to run out for a fight and to make iglo's, while Nina was held by her collar up to make sure she wouldn't escape lesso's grasp.
" where is that Ilay of yours mh?" Just as lesso talked about him, the lion dove into the snow to play with the students.
" he's going to be no help." Lesso groaned, watching as never's joined the whole ordeal to make it a real snowfight.
" I hate my life." Lesso muttered under her breath, starting to walk away.
" I love your life!" Nina grinned, lesso sending her a confused look.
" without your life I wouldn't have had my best friend!" Lesso grimaced.
" I'm not your best friend, we're maybe friends." Lesso saw Nina's grin fall of her face, the woman now just dangling from her grip on her collar with a sad expression.
" okay, we're friends, now stop acting as if I killed Ilay." Nina smiled softly at her, wrapping her arms around her torso and hugging her.
" let me go! I have places to be-" Nina cut lesso off with her finger, the woman slowly setting the other down on the ground.
Nina stood before her, hugging her and hiding her face in her neck.
" why are you hugging me?" Lesso asked, frowning slightly.
" because I wanted to, and you're warm." Nina nuzzled closer to her neck, lesso seething inside.
" I am not warm." She stated, Nina humming along.
" I'm sure you're not."
Lesso eventually melted into Nina, her warm body making her feel at home, safe.

Something she did not need.

So, she parted, grabbing Nina's wrist and dragging her with to the library.
Along the way there, she had lost Nina, and she couldn't care less, what she did care about, was dovey starting to talk to her as she sat down to read.

"That was so adorable! Why didn't you kiss her!" Dovey squealed, lesso already annoyed at her.
" why would I, I don't even like her." Dovey rolled her eyes.
" you love her, duh." Dovey moved to sit next to lesso, grabbing her hands and making her look at her.
" you guys are true love, you know that lesso."
" no, we're not, she's just some woman who can't get out of her childish phase she had as a child." Dovey sighed.
" that's because she never got to be a child, you do realize that her powers had her living with her aunt? That woman is lovely but she only let Nina leave when she knew she could control her powers." Lesso rolled her eyes.
" and she could only leave when the sthymp went to get her, she was fifteen and stuck in a house." Dovey pointed out.
" she's had nineteen years to stop being childish, I don't care."

" Nina! Get back here right this instant!" Nina looked up to find lesso, so she started running towards the woman with a grin.
" remember our one during Christmas when we were back in schoo-" lesso cut her off, grabbing her and dragging her away.
" I do not care." Lesso spoke, throwing Nina into her own room and locking the door, spelling it.
She left Nina with her own thoughts, the woman sitting on the floor with tears brimming in her eyes.

Normally, she would immediately burst through her windows if they were also spelled, but this time she didn't even think of it.
This time, lesso had locked her up.
This time it was Christmas, the same time she tried to keep herself busy at all costs else she would think back to her own school years.

The years where she and lesso had a chance to live happily ever after together.
