Essence POV

It was the next day and I had to go to school. I sighed heavily at the thought of it .

•at school
'Yo Essence what's good!?' Jordan said in his usual happy mood.
' I'm chill , thanks for yesterday ' I said giving him a handshake
'Nah it's cool ' he responded
Soon after Jasper and Irene joined us

'Guys we should go out more, yesterday was lit' Irene said excitedly
'Yeah for sure ' Jasp added

I've been feeling a weird vibe from Jasper since after yesterday but I don't want it to be what I'm thinking.
The bell rang and it was time for my chess club meeting. After the incident with Ciara, I fell out of touch with Donald cause I knew that bitch would give me problems and I was going to see him again today ugh😩.
'You can do this Essence, you're a hard girl for crying out loud!' I tried motivating myself before finally opening the door to the chess club.
Today's meeting was the same ol' boring stuff but there was a new guy, his name was Joseph or Jack no Jacob, yes Jacob!
He had a horrible attitude and he was exactly like Donald in terms of character and I disliked him instantly!
We wrapped up soon enough and I was heading out when all of a sudden I hit something or rather someone tall .
' Be focused while you're walking, you're not a spirit that can't be seen or bumped into.' a deep voice stated
I looked up at the person, it was Jacob. I felt like punching him instantly. We hadn't met officially and I already hated him so much.
' Don't you dare talk to me like that, I'm not the one that's long like an ostrich ' I replied with anger in my voice.
'Jusy get lost, it's pointless exchanging words with you.' he said in a stern yet calm tone
'Ugh you're a jerk's I replied while he walked away without saying a word or looking in my direction.
Ugh I hate this boy so much already, he's annoying.

•At home
I got home and I was tired so I crashed on my bed.

Soon enough I woke up and it was morning ugh 🥲
Another round of school and frustration. I just want to graduate already 😩😩

Jasper's POV

Talking to Essence was pretty nice, she's chill. What if she actually likes me!? I thought you myself
'Nah come of it Jasp, you're way out of her league ' I said again while walking towards Irene and Jordan.
They've been spending a lot of time together since the outing and I have to admit they're pretty cute 😍.

'Hey Irene, hey Jordan what's up ' I greeted the both of them with a small smile
' I'm chill bro hby?' Jordan responded
' Jasp, have you by any chance seen Essence?' Irene asked with an expectant look
' I think she may have another chess club meeting today, they're starting to get more and more active in that club' I replied

'Hey y'all ' Essence greeted
She came just as we stopped talking about her
' Hey Ez!' we said in chorus
' I'm so sorry I haven't had time for you guys, the chess club is becoming increasingly serious ' she said looking guilty
We walked over to the cafeteria and picked a table so we could talk and have lunch

' So tell us, what really happens in that club' btw? And are there any hot guys, if you know what I mean' Irene said to Essence giving her a smirk
'Yesss tell us everything' Jordan added also smirking
Ugh what's wrong with them
'Yh Essence we'd like to know' I said calmly
'Well for one there are no hot guys. There was Donald but to hell with him oh yeah and there's this annoying dork that just joined the club. He is so irritating and everything about him annoys me. I think his name is Jacob's she said with irritation in her voice
