Essence' Pov

"Hannah! Open the door I'm in the kitchen"
diiing diing

"Hannah!!! It's Jacob and Zach!
I heard quick footsteps and suddenly
"Hey!! pig face!!" Hannah yelled
The small looking boy scrunched a little and looked down, I felt pity for him cause' my sister can be a lot sometimes
"Don't call me that! Frog!!" He retorted
I take back my pity! They're meant for each other

I looked up from Zach and my gaze met Jacob
he had on a dark brown button up shirt which was neatly tucked into nude slacks
He looked neat like a young teacher, he always looked on point for some strange reason

I dusted off my hands on my apron and gestured them in. Zach and Hannah ran off to her room
"Are you busy right now?" He asked

Jacob Pov

I just got to Essence'
She's a bit busy, she had an apron on
O...ohhh wowwww
She turned around to pick up something from her dining table, she had booty shorts on! oh damnnn

Damn Essence is packing!
What am I thinking of!? I need to stop staring like I want to drool! She's in her home I shouldn't make her feel uncomfortable in her own home
I settled on a chair in her dining room, the dining had a view of the kitchen and living room. She went back into the kitchen and took off her apron
She had a peach tank top on and hot damn I was finding it so hard to keep my composure
She made her way up the stairs
Aghhh!! I really had to calm myself down!

Hannah and Zach were now playing loudly in the living room and I asked Hannah to get me water, she did.
Essence came back down
I tried not to notice what she was wearing butttttt she had a large tee on with what seemed like nothing underneathhh...even better
Gawwwd she had her curly hair in a bun, her baby hair was poking out

"Jacob!"
"You're spacing out"

😭!!
"Ohh...ohh, sorry" I said
"Where were we?" I asked awkwardly completely failing to maintain my already shattered composure

Essence' POV

Was this dork checking me out?
Nahh it was just my imagination
"Alright! We need to put the finishing touches on the formula statements then"

Only 2 minutes in

"Raaaawwwwwqsoreeeee ATTACK!"
"Sqquuuueeeeeaaaakkk"
......
"Frog!!!"
"Pig face!!!!"
Those kids were making noise
"Hannah! You're making noise can you go to your room please" I said trying to be nice cause' I didn't want these boys to witness murder
"Nuh! uh!!"
"There's not even space in my room for the tournament of the century"

'Hehehe' Jacob chuckled
I shot him a deadly glare and he mouthed "what?"
I've never really noticed his mouth before, he's got full lips—quite pretty.

"But we're studying Hannah! You know that" I said
"Why don't you guys go to your room Ez" she said
Now I gave her her own deadly glare then I saw Zach beside her he looked happy, aww
"Uhh I guess! If that's okay with Jacob"

Jacob's POV

Six pair of eyes on me i couldn't say no, even though I felt I was in no mood to be in her room right now
"Okay sure"

She led the way up to her room I followed behind her, carrying majority of the books. We got in and honestly I expected dark colors
Her room was peach with minimalistic undertones it gave off this calm aura a huge contrast from the fierce Essence that challenges me at every turn

She dropped the books in her hands on her bed and flopped into a bean bag beside it and laid there
"Aren't we going to continue?" I asked, confused
"Let's rest a bit, my head's on fire" she replied
I got myself settled on a sturdy wooden chair in front of a workspace table what looked like where she studied
"You must really like the colour, peach" I stated
"Yeah I do" she replied immediately making reluctantly stay quiet, I felt silenced

"Why do you play chess, captain" she asked all of a sudden
I was taken aback by her question because I wasn't expecting it but mainly because she called my captain. I was still a razzled on how beautiful her body is
For someone who I hadn't thought pretty on our first meeting, she's quite outstanding
"Hey?" She said
"Oh sorry, yeah! Chess!"
"Idk I like everything about it." I replied
"Which is?....ofc if you don't mind me asking" she said
"I wouldn't want to bore you Essence" I said leaning in on the chair
"You wouldn't" she said looking into my eyes, inquisitively. I gave in, I began rambling about the spirits, my love for the tactics, how my older cousin used to beat me, everything.

I didn't know when I ended up on the floor sitting cross legged beside her. She listened carefully and laughed at my little jokes. I noticed at club meetings that she was quite good. No soon after her head was on my thigh staring into my face while I continued rambling endlessly. I really didn't know when and how I got this comfortable with her, I don't think I hate it

Her phone chimed
"Shit! Jacob it's 4:30 we need to round up our project"
"Oh okay okay!" I got up from the floor and dusted my slacks I held out my hand to her on the floor she grabbed unto me and lifted herself up a little too hard bumping into me a little

Essence POV

Has he always been this tall? Damn!
It's those pretty lips again... I wonder if I could...
Oh no Ez!! Stop these thoughts
Im already clinging unto him!! I quickly let go of his lower back
"Im sorry " I quickly apologised
"It's alright" he replied

Jacob's POV
I seemed so calm but inside me I was feeling weird things, weird in a good way. The few seconds she held on to me were ethereal. Jacob put yourself together don't loose your self
"Uh I..I think we've done enough for today" I managed to say
"Oh yh sure, see you at school" she replied calmly
"Yeah byee" I said and dashed out of her room
Calm down Joseph, PUT YOURSELF TOGETHER!
"Zach common it's time to go, say good bye to Hannah and meet me outside " I said and went outside to wait
Soon after Zach joined me and we headed home
I got home threw my back pack on the floor and layed majestically on my bed then what happened with Ez started to play in my head and I was feeling all giddy again

My phone rang piercing through my thoughts, I picked up my phone to see who it was and my heart clogged
