A Child's Best Interest (Completed)

"Asan ka na?" Maddie asked Bea, cladding her daughter and Bea's son. 

Birthday ng anak ni Bea so she decided to leave early from work and meet them at the mall.

While waiting for Bea, Maddie noticed some kind of a small commotion near the mall and when she peeped through, nakakita nya ng malaking tarp revealing Bea's favorite model, MJ. She will be one of the guests sa ribbon cutting with one of the country's successful business tycoons, Thirdy Ravena.

"Mama, I want to pee." Maddie's daughter was almost into tears.

"You don't have to cry, baby, tara, we'll go to the toilet." Maddie carried her daughter and took Aston's hand. "Sumama ka muna sa amin, your mom will be here in awhile."

"Can I stay here, please? I won't move po. I just want to see Ms. MJ." The little boy pleaded.

Maddie looked at the surroundings and saw a woman's toilet not very far.

"O basta huwag ka umalis ha, we'll be back right away." Maddie reminded the little boy.

The little boy nodded.

After awhile, the speaker has announced the arrival of Thirdy and MJ. 

From afar, Aston was mesmerized by what he was seeing, there was no commotion but everyone was excited seeing this pair. The little boy, unconsciously walked towards the area where the stage was situated.

Other audience were hand banging the stage until one foot fell. Dali daling pinatabi ng organizer and mga guest but Thirdy was quick to notice the little boy who seem to be in pain. Dali dali syang bumaba at nilapitan ito. 

He saw the boy's legs bleeding heavily, napansin nya ang kahoy na parang naipit sa balat ng bata.

Agad syang tumakbo sa kanyang sasakyan kasama ang kanyang guy Friday na si Ivan.

"Bilisan nyo, dalhin natin ang batang ito sa ospital!"

The boy was murmuring in pain.

"Bei, asan ka na?" Maddie called her again when she noticed that Aston is nowhere to be found.

"Eto na malapit na ako."

Just when Maddie was about to tell her that she can't find Aston, she heard the sound for an incoming call. She pulled over and told Maddie that she will call her when she gets to the mall.

"Hello?" Bea greeted.

"Si Bea de Leon po ba ito Mother ni Aston de Leon?"

"Po? Sino po ito? Ako nga po un." She was confused as to who would be calling her for her son kung kasama ni Maddie ang anak nya.

"Sa St. Luke's po ito sa Rodriguez ave. Andito po ang anak nyo, hinatid po sya ng isang lalake. Puntahan nyo po sya dito, naaksidente po sya."

Bea stared at her phone trying to decipher what the caller was telling her. After a few minutes, she called Maddie and asked her about Aston.

"Bei, sorry, nawala kasi sya. I was about to tell you but you got into another call."

"Ha? Bakit mo sya pinabayaan? Mamaya na tayo magusap, kailangan ko sya punatahan sa hospital, naaksidente daw sya." Bea said and hurriedly hung up.

When she arrived at the hospital, dumerecho sya sa Out patient dept and was ushered to where her son was.

"He has been bleeding profusely mula pa po ng dumating sya dito, kailangan po natin mareplace ung mga nawalang dugo sa kanya."

"How long do I have para makahanp ng replacement? Very rare ang dugo nya." Bea responded, worriedly.

"Meron bang anyone in your family na same ng blood type nya?" The doctor asked.

Bea shakes her head for a no.

"Doctor, 5 hours pa daw para madala dito ung available blood." One of the nurses came.

"Masyadong matagal ang 5 hours."

The little boy was unconscious while Bea cried nonstop beside his bed. Hindi sya makaisip ng ibang way to save her son.

Meanwhile, Thirdy was ready to leave after bayaran ung damages when they first got there. Palabas na sya nang mapadaan sya at makita si Aston na nakahiga pa.

"Kamusta ang bata?" He asked the doctor.

Napatingin si Bea when she recognized the voice.

"Sir, sa labas na po muna kayo, family member lang po dito." The nurse reminded him.

Pagtingin ni Bea, she was surprised to see Thirdy.

Thirdy looked at her and then the child.

And left.

Bea looked at her son and closed her eyes. A few seconds more and she shouted when she saw Thirdy on his way out.

"Teka!"

Lumingon si Thirdy.

"Can you save this child?" Bea asked him.

Nagulat si Thirdy sa narinig nya.

"Ako? Ano kailangan ko gawin ko para maisalba ko ang buhay nya?" Thirdy asked her.

"Kailangan nya ng dugo. Ikaw lang ang makakabigay sa kanya nun?"

"Dahil?"

"Because you have the same blood type!" Bea finally said. "Please, please, I'm begging you to save him."

Thirdy was getting confused and surprised. He walked near her.

"Alam mo ang blood type ko?" Thirdy asked her. "Bakit alam mo blood type ko?"

Bea was surprised when she realized what she just did.

"Ahh..kasi.." She was struggling.

Unti unting lumalapit si Thirdy sa kanya.

"Kasi?"

She knelt and begged him.

"Please, nakikiusap ako sayo, save him!"

"Kung hindi mo sasabihin sa akin, hindi kita matutulungan."

Patalikod na sana si Thirdy when Bea shouted,

"Because he's your son! Sa'yo sya. Ikaw lang ang pwede magpahaba ng buhay nya, it's all up to you!"
