Meriwa

Meriwa awoke to find Daryl wrapped around her and purring loudly in her ear. For a moment, Meri simply sighed and nestled closer to her best friend and the father of her children as she just grinned until the need to pee drove her from her lover's arms and into the bathroom.

Darkness had fallen outside, and she didn't even bother to turn on the bathroom lights, opting instead to do her business by the light of the moon rather than destroy the ambience of a peaceful evening. Yawning as she realized her head was pounding and her body was sore, Meriwa could only think about getting back to the comfortable bed and the sexy, loving man in that comfortable bed.

The promise of more time in bed buoyed her, and before she knew what was happening, Meri was finished and striding out of the bathroom, thinking of nothing more than crawling back into bed with D only to find him standing there in front of her, illuminated by the light of a hotel desk lamp and wearing an odd expression. The man sported a look that was something between relief and rage, but Meriwa didn't give herself time to ponder the unusual expression as she beamed and stepped into his embrace.

"Howcome my face hurts and you look so broody?"

D's body muffled her question, but he understood it nonetheless. With a sigh, he mumbled his words into her hair. "You hurt because you've got a black eye, Mer. And your hand is hurt. And you've got the bruises and things. And I'm not broody. I just... I just missed you and was really, really worried."

Meriwa laughed, pulling the man back to bed even as she heard her stomach rumble audibly. When she looked down, she realized she was still only wearing the cheap hotel robe. But it was clean and warm enough that she simply left it on while she pulled Daryl into the bed, then under the covers with her.

Smiling, she tugged the comforter over both their heads and placed her hand on her stomach to feel the twins kicking furiously at each other. Some of the light from the desk lamp bled through the blanket, enabling her to see Daryl's confused but relatively happy smirk as he regarded her.

Still grinning as she stared into those blue eyes, she spoke. "I'm fine now. Babies are fine. I think they're fighting. Oh! We need food. And where are Car and Ryke?"

As soon as she had the thought about their lovers, she felt the goddess inside her sort of take control, using their body to kiss Daryl then say something that Meri didn't really pay attention to because the babies were having such a fun time fighting each other inside her that she was thoroughly distracted.

"Is that alright?"

"Huh?" When Meri came back to reality, she found Daryl sitting in front of her, massaging her thighs and giving her another weird look.

In response to her confusion, D gave her a gentle and understanding smile before explaining. "I asked a team to bring us food. There're not a ton of options in this town, but there's a diner. Some people are going to pick it up for us. That alright?"

"I love diner food!" As she spoke, Meriwa began crawling into Daryl's lap. The air on the other side of the blanket was chilly, but under here with D, it was the perfect temperature.

"I know you do, Meri. So do I." With that, he rubbed her back and kissed her temple, careful to avoid her eye, which was painfully swollen.

Meri scowled at the look of worry in his eyes before grabbing Daryl's free hand and inspecting the crisscrossing lines on his palm in the faint light. "You still look so worried. I promise I'm fine."

D released a tense breath, then kissed her once more before speaking in a quiet voice. "I'm sorry, Meri. I should've-"

"Shhh!" Meri held one finger from her bandaged hand to his lips to silence him, then continued, "I'm fine. Had way worse before. Like... I literally died one time. This? This is nothing. Just...love me, silly. Ah! I know what to do..."
