Meriwa
Meri cowered in the closet, doing her best to stay quiet and hoping he wouldn't hear. On some level, she knew it was silly. He could totally probably smell and hear her with his supernatural abilities.
But, she wasn't going to let that ruin her fun as she held her hand over her mouth to stifle her laughter when he literally walked past her hiding spot. It wasn't like there were a ton of spaces to hide in their hotel suite, but even pregnant, she was tiny, which enabled her to squeeze in places Daryl wouldn't think to look for her in.
"Meri!"
Her lover called out then huffed from the other room, drawing a grin to her face because she could tell he was legitimately frustrated. It wasn't long before she'd decided to do just that when the front door opened, leading her to veritably trip over herself in her effort to make it to the living room of the hotel suite.
Carbry walked in first, and Meri, knowing that he would automatically catch her, threw herself at him, forcing him to drop his bag of weapons or whatever and wrap her in his arms. It was weird. She was being weird, and she knew it, though she laughed softly as her mate lifted her and peppered his face with kisses. Ryke was standing next to him, and once Carbry finally let up with his kissing, she reached for the other man, grabbing his shirt and pulling him close so that she could do to him what Carbry had just done to her. She'd missed them so much. Since getting back, everything had felt so fuzzy.
The men she loved basked in her affection, but they still seemed oddly... tired. And, for some reason, they'd taken the time to shower off before coming back to her and Daryl. Their hair was plastered to their foreheads, and they both smelled like the same shampoo, but Meri didn't mind as her mate placed her delicately back on the ground, enabling her to step into Ryke's almost painful embrace.
As Ryker held her, Carbry kissed the top of her head. "You're in a good mood, love."
She was about to ask whatever happened to the dicks who'd done... what they had done to her and the babies, but then remembered she was in the middle of a game, which led her to hold a finger up to Carbry's lips. "Shh! I've gotta hide. Help me?"
"No helping!" Daryl admonished as he strode into the sitting area of their two-bedroom hotel suite.
When her eyes landed on the cowboy, she squealed before wiggling for Ryke to let her go. Once she was free again, she set off in the direction of the other bedroom, the direction opposite from Daryl, but she ended up banging her toe on the coffee table in the process.
"Fucking stupid swollen eye messing with my depth perception."
"Meri?" Car's words held worry but fell on deaf ears as she hurried into the other room looking for a good hiding spot.
"We're playing hide and seek." Daryl explained as Meri sighed and gave up when she realized she'd already wasted all her good hiding places.
Frowning, she returned to the sitting area to find Car and Ryke staring at her, bewildered. Shrugging, she addressed her cowboy. "You win, D. No more hiding spots."
Daryl offered her one of his brilliantly charming grins. "I could hide this time."
"Nah," Meri shook her head, causing her slightly tangled hair to fall into her eyes. Absently, she brushed her hair away and tightened her robe before grinning at Car and Ryke. "Boys are back. Where were you guys?"
"Business." They both said in unison as if they'd rehearsed the answer.
Meri knew they were being suspicious. They'd been up to something involving the people who had... had taken... but her mind turned away from these thoughts when Ryker strode over to her and fell to his knees. She laughed, running the fingers of her good hand through his still-wet hair as he grinned up at her.
