09: Here They Come

Hearing footsteps shuffle along the floor, I open my eyes to see the leaders leaving the shelter tent.

Aurora comes by and says, "hey Adam wake up, we got to get ready for the meeting"

Walking away she avoids waking anyone else up.

Feeling my joints in pain as I get up I wait till I get outside to stretch.

Taking a few steps away from the tent I yawn and watch all the other leaders try and wake up fully.

Going into the tactical room I meet with Ohera who's talking with Naomi.

"You can trust that we will heal the injured, we're here to help you, and we will do our best to do our part," she says and Ohera smiles.

"Thank you, your support means a lot, after this meeting you'll be able to rest some more," she says and Naomi walks away and sits with the others.

Watching Ohera closely I can tell she's more nervous than she's ever been. Actually, she's never been nervous or at least shows it, the only time she did was yesterday.

"Hey, you doing okay?" I ask and she drops her head.

"I'm not, I feel bad for not being there with you guys as you fought the soldiers back at the city and I still can't think of a plan to counter an enemy we know nothing about, I don't know I just feel a bit lost" she admits and I playfully punch her arm.

"You told me on multiple occasions that I can't let fear lead me, you don't have to come up with a plan on your own, look at everyone here, they have all been through war and they're here to help with anything," I say reassuring her.

"Your right, thanks Adam," she says and prepares to start.

Standing off to the side, we all quiet down and listen.

"Thank you all for joining me here, as I said yesterday I still don't know much about these Voyers but there is someone here who does," she says giving room for someone.

Waiting around, Jordan finally walks in saying, "sorry I'm late I was checking on something, uh yes I spent the last two years studying about Voyers"

"For those unaware Voyers are a species of conquerors and are made of some sort of cosmic material I don't yet know but their focus is clear, to take out all realms and destroy earth," he says and I step forward.

"What do you mean? Are you saying the invasion of earth was because of them?" I say and he nods.

"They are strategic, they influence the minds of the residents in the realm and have them take out each other to get their dirty work out of the way, from what I can gather magic is the only thing they are afraid of but the specific magic has been long lost, until two years ago me and Adam brought it back" he answers and everyone leans in with interest. 

"I had a theory that they lost their realm to an unknown cause but after looking at all the realms they each have magic specific to their world, I soon came to the conclusion that the Voyers were the ones that came from the space between realm, they are the ones that don't belong anywhere and they are the ones that created the shades that leak into realms and cause terror" he goes on.

"You said their end goal is to take out the earth, how does that relate to all of this?" Aurora asks.

Taking a deep breath he answers, "as I said before the magic they are afraid of has been lost and that one Voyer me and Adam fought brought up answers, I was the only one who could harm them and it soon came to me that I was using a pure form of magic"

Pure form? I think I remember something about that during my time on earth.

"We witches got our magic from restoring rifts that we're leaking into our realm and it allowed us to absorb pure magic, now earth is the only realm that holds pure magic at its core and they wish to destroy it, if they succeed in taking out every other realm with magic and take out earth, then there will be nothing to stop them" he continues.
