|Y/N|
"Guys!" John called their attention. "This is my sister, Y/N! She'll be joining us in a few weeks."
I waved with a smile "hi everyone."
They waved back as some of them just nodded. I took that as a hi, even though none of them actually said the word hey. Well, except for price and Gaz.
It was kind of boring to be honest, watching as my brother had fun with his friends while I tried to not to fall behind. Price and Gaz were the only ones that really talked to me, but that mask guy was just plain out ignoring me unless it was shooting related. I didn't even hear his voice til he came up behind me and offered me a hand up from a laid down shooting position.
I thanked him, catching a glimpse of his cold dead eyes. It gave me the shivers as I couldn't look away. Almost glaring at them while he kept them pointed in my direction.
"Hey sis!" John called out.
I turned away "yeah?"
"Come check this out!"
I gave one more glance back at him before jogging over to my brother. Finding that he was staring at a breath taking view of the sunset and mountains. I gasped in surprise.
"It's a beauty isn't she?" Price commented before putting a hand on my shoulder. Almost in a fatherly type way.
I smiled at him.
John smiled too before looking back and saying in a melancholy tone "are you sure, you're ready for this sis?"
I furrowed my brows. "What do you mean?"
"He's asking if you're sure you want to persue joining the 141." Ghost clarified.
"It's a lot. Wouldn't want you to miss another sunset like this." Price added.
I rolled my eyes and scoffed. "I'm not some little kid guys. I know what the hell I'm doing." I shrugged prices arm off and turned away from the sun. Facing the assholes in the process. "I could run circles around any of you, so don't start acting like I'm the one that needs protecting or a warning for joining the 141."
Price went to speak when a hand fell on his shoulder. It was laswell.
"You heard her." She smirked. "Now, I have some interesting news for you."
We all gave her our attention as she walked us over to the nearby picnic table.
"You guys remember our buddy shepherd right?"
We all collectively rolled our eyes.
"How could we forget?" Ghost stated.
"Well, it doesn't look like he wants you to forget." She pulled open her laptop and showed us documents along with Shepard's profile. "He just sent a threat to the whole base, stating that there's a traitor in our mists."
We all looked over our shoulder at each other. Glaring for any sense of misconduct.
"Do we know who the traitor is?" John asked.
"Negative." She sighed. "We already assigned a task force to investigate whether Shepard is, once again, lying through his teeth or if there is really a mole in our team..." I could feel my brothers worry and anger protruding from his body. He was stressing out, and it wasn't gonna be pretty when the mole finally came out. "I'm gonna be honest with you guys.." she continued "this is gonna be a rough few weeks. Especially since the people being questioned, are mainly around this table."
Another glare around the table set the mood for suspicion. Was it price? Gaz? Ghost? ... John?
Shivers ran up my spine as Laswell packed up her laptop and started heading out.
"We'll talk more about this tomorrow." She stated.
"Kate... are you sure about this?" Price asked.
She sighed. "There's nothing I can do about it. But hey! At least we don't have anything to hide." She smiled, trying to lift moral when the rest of the team seemed tensed.
Price walked with her. Leaving the rest of the 141 to talk about the news.
Ghost walked over to John as I followed behind him.
"Can you believe that L.T.?" He asked ghost.
"It's all rubbish Johnny, don't stress about it."
He nodded before asking me "What do you think sis?"
"It's weird that he would say something like that if there was really a mole. I mean.. why help us?"
Ghost and John looked at each other. Asking if I could've been right with eye-contact.
"Well, we shouldn't be worrying about it anyway. Like Laswell said.." ghost looked back at me. "There's an investigation going on. So we'll know soon enough."
I furrowed my brows. Wondering if he was really questioning my involvement. "Yeah..." I added. "We will know soon enough."
I stared into his eyes, his black and dimly lit irises scrutinizing me as mine did the same to him.
Who does he think he is?
John sighed. "Can you two not stare at each other? Y/N and I gotta head back to base for some rest."
We finished our glaring session before John led the way to the car. Starting up the engine as I gave one last look out to the sunset.
Beauty in one place.
A few minutes later we were back at base. Heading to our separate sleeping quarters to get a quick shower and go to sleep.
It was relaxing, the water running down my body as I washed my hair. I let out a exhale before turning off the water and walking over to my towel and clothes. Drying off my body before putting the towel in my hair and putting on my clothing. Later taking off my towel and letting my hair air dry. I opened the door, expecting to see my not so comfortable cot waiting for me, but soon being faced with a man's armored chest. I assumed it was another guy waiting for the shower and started apologizing when I felt a bag slip over my head. My hands went up, immediately going to get the bag off when I felt my body being lifted over the man's shoulder and my legs starting to be tied.
There were two of them.
I screamed for help when out of nowhere I felt a sudden sharp prick of a needle. I was out.
