We ran outside as the loud bang dissipated. Leaving us with the view of a fire that was left behind.
"Get the buckets!" price yelled at us and a few other men and women. We rushed over to the buckets and filled them with water, hurrying back to the fire to splash it.
Afterwards, rushing over to see the damage that had been done.
"A bomb?" I asked John.
He nodded. "A fuckin planted bomb."
We glanced at each other before looking out to everyone else. Sizing them up as we showed our bias towards each other.
"Mctavishes!"
We turned to find Laswell calling us over to where the rest of the 141 were standing. We joined them and waited til the tent was closed to talk.
Laswell dropped a detonator, that theoretically belonged to the bomb, onto the table. Watching it with a sort of mix of anger and frustration in her eyes.
"I want this son of bitch caught. And I want him caught now!" She slammed her fists down on the table. Looking up in a rush before coming over one by one and asking "is it you?" Getting angrier every time she asked.
"What about you Y/N? Is. It. You?" She asked slowly.
"No." I firmly replied, watching her eyes as they scolded into mine.
"Then who is it?!" She yelled, turning around. She exhaled, heavy breathing with fury as her arms went to lean on the table. Silence fell throughout the room, everyone too afraid to speak. Including Price. "I want another sweep, but this time... search their bunks. I want everything laid in front of me. Shoes, wallets, IDs, all of it. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes mam!"
"I said, do I make myself clear?!"
"Yes mam!" We replied back louder.
"Price! Go through a strategy, I have to make sure there aren't any more arson attempts tonight. Call me when you're done."
He nodded before pulling us together. The plan would happen tomorrow night, late at night when everyone would be out on missions or doing their monthly conditioning. But for now, we had a day to burn.
I was tired as hell so I went back to my bunk. Only to be faced with another sleepless night. I tried all the different positions, on my stomach, solider like, side, other side, upside down. Nothing.
I groaned and got up to go for a stroll. Walking a few steps outside til I landed upon Price and John playing a card game.
They didn't notice me, but someone else did.
"Aren't you supposed to be in bed?" I heard a voice ask from behind me.
I turned to look him in the eye. "I cant sleep."
"Right." Gaz mocked. "Well.. if you're not gonna sleep.. do you wanna play some cards?"
I smiled. "Sure."

Finally. A sleep break. I started by taking off my shoes and vest. It's been a few days since I last showered so why not start there?
I grumbled before taking off my shirt, taking a look at myself in the mirror before proceeding with my pants. Now it was just me and my briefs.
My mask was dirty. I needed to clean it. But before I took it off to soak, I heard voices outside. Sounded like Price and Johnny outside my cot's walls. I laid off on the shower and started taking off my mask as their conversation kept me company.
