The crash of a vase as it hits the floor breaks the silence.
Joel looks like he is beyond pissed, angrily muttering to himself and pacing in the living room.
Michael orders me to stay in the kitchen, and I do, watching Michael try to calm down Joel.
Michael continued to talk in a hushed tone while Joel listens, calming down from his anger high.
This had never happened before, usually Michael got angry at a task, and Joel took over. Michael would then go calm down.
Joel had never just break something out of no where.
Bttz
I looked at my phone and saw a text, from Skye.
Blue: Hey. You have been a great friend to me. I am sorry that this had to happen.
This made zero sense. If Skye told her parents, she would of been saying how terrible her parents are.
Then it hit me.
"Hey, I'm gonna take-" Michael stopped when he saw my expression, and I could tell there was even more concern on his face then before. "What happened?"
"I need to find Skye." I answer, and Michael nods.
"I'll be in the car." Michael says, leaving to go corral Joel into the car.
I quickly pull up the phone tracking website on my laptop and typed in the information I needed. I was glad we exchanged information in case we were ever in trouble.
The phone was in Edgewater park. The park was the kind were you hike in the woods and camp. Why would she-
The bridge over the river.
I ran out of the house and quickly got in the car, forcing the seat belt into the buckle.
"Where am I going?" Michael asks.
"Edgewater park." I answer.
"Why are we going there?" Joel says, fussing with something in his seat.
"Casey's friend is there."
"So?"
"I will explain it later."
"Was it really necessary to put me in zipties?"
"Yes."
An intense drive with me trying not to panic and Michael trying not to snap at Joel ensued, and once we got there I was out of the car.
"Go take Joel. I can do this." I lie, but she would most likely listen to me alone. I don't wait for Michael to respond, I just run to the entrance.
"Wish you luck!" Michael yelled through a rolled down window. I hear the car drive off, and I take off in a mad run to the bridge.
Skye and I used to come here all the time during summer. Used, we are still going to do it this year.
We are.
I came to the bridge, and saw Skye, standing on the safety railing.
"SKYE!" I yell, and Skye whips her head to me. Her face is red with tears.
"Go home Casey! You shouldn't be here!" Skye yells at me.
"You shouldn't either! Get down from there and come with me!" I call out, inching closer to her.
"There's no point! My parent's think I am a disgrace and kicked me out when I stood up for you!"
"Then you can stay with us!"
"That doesn't change anything! My life is just absolutely shitty and I can't live with it anymore!"
"What about me?"
"What?"
"What am I gonna do without you? Who is gonna stand up to Molly with me? Who is going to make fun of Gavin's accent when he is over with me? Who is going to be my best friend?"
Silence.
"You can figure that out. I am sorry that this had to happen this way."
"No! Don't! I can't be without you!"
"Yes, you can."
"No, I can't! You the one that keeps me going, keeps me smiling, keeps me sane!"
Silence.
"What about visiting the office? I promised to take you, don't make me break that promise."
"My mind is made up. I'm sorry."
And she jumped.
