The sun from the glass doors glared into Leo's room. It beamed onto his face, making him stir awake. His eyes blinked until they were fully open. He had forgotten to draw the shades before Gavin and him left.
Last night was a blur of events. Gavin and Imani wanted to keep drinking, so he pulled out two bottles of wine and the four of them had to finish them. The first partners to finish got to go to the bedrooms. Gina was not very helpful because she took small sips, so they were close to losing. Leo took the reins and chugged about seventy-five percent of the bottle in seconds. The two of them made their way to his room. One thing led to another and Gina attempted to pleasure Leo, but had a mishap. Even after that, he was perturbed. She felt stiff in his grasp and remained silent the entire time, like she did not even want to do anything, so they stopped and knocked out.
When Leo looked to his right, there was no Gina. Her clothes were gone, too. She had left when the sun rose like she said she would. He was very thankful at that moment. Before getting fully out of bed, he snatched his phone from the dresser and searched through his contacts. With a click on the red button, her profile was gone and out of sight.
After a long yawn, he untangled himself from the sheets and pushed himself out of bed. He only had on a pair of basketball shorts. The floor was cold even with the hot, morning sun heating up the room. With muscle memory, his finger flipped the light switch to the bathroom and shut the door behind him. When he looked in the mirror, his messiness was heavily noticeable. His hair was out of sorts and he had small, faint bruises on the sides of his neck. Similar marks were even on his abdomen.
A shower was a necessity, and very whisk. It was mainly to exfoliate everything from a couple hours ago off of him.
The bedroom had its own bathroom. It had blue tiled walls with white floors. The tub, which also had a shower head, was pearly white. There were matching blue towels folded in a cubby. Bottles of shampoo and conditioner, along with a bar of soap, were on the edge of the tub by the wall.
He stripped himself from the old shorts and stepped into the tub. His hand twisted the glass knob and the cold water hit his skin. Goosebumps formed on his arms. It felt refreshing like he had jumped into the ocean at night years ago. He rinsed his body. He lathered his shampoo through his locks, then put his head back under the water. A weight lifted off his shoulders. All of the sweat and grease went down the drain with the shampoo.
After five minutes, he hopped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around his hips. He made his way back into his room and rummaged through his clothes.
There was a knock at the door and it was Gavin. He was also in a towel.
"Hey, man," he said with a small laugh. He looked over at the bed. "Rough night?"
"No," Leo said as he grabbed a shirt and pair of shorts. "She left an hour ago or so."
"Nice." Gavin adjusted his towel and tightened it. He started to recall what had happened. "Did you see what was even going on by the booth? All I heard was a bang and a dude collided with a chick."
Leo shook his head as he threw on his shirt. "None of us could see anything."
"Whatever," Gavin muttered. "Those idiots probably had too much to drink."
Gavin walked back to his room, most likely to participate in another round with Imani. Once Leo was dressed, he grabbed his phone and wallet, then made his way out of the room. He trudged down the stairs, his sneakers creating echoed stomping sounds. There were sounds in the kitchen, so he made his way towards it. His mother was next to the oven. There were muffins being baked. She was cutting up fruit. When Leo was walking towards her, her head bobbed up.
