Wayne's mugshot was all over the news the day after. The multi-billionaire was sentenced to life in prison. There were videos of him at the court and he did not even defend himself. Nobody was there on his side. Gavin and Leo did not bother to even show. Nobody on the island protested against it. There was finally some sense of peace.

The brothers were brought into the office. Their family's lawyer was present. She read out their wills. Under their circumstances, Wayne had lost all of his assets and money, so his was read as well. Even if he were to get out somehow, he would not be allowed back into normal civilization. Lisa had left Gavin with sixty-five thousand dollars and Leo with ninety-five thousand dollars. Wayne had left the boys large, unimaginable sums of money. The lawyer said that the money would officially be under their own names once they took it, but it felt wrong to even think about taking it. Gavin was left with ownership of the company and Leo had the mansion under his name, as Wayne told Leo on the dock.

"I would also like to add that Wayne Alodia was traced back to Lisa, Morgan and her family's death," the lawyer mentioned. "Also, the case regarding Georgia Labin-Alodia is being reopened." Gavin started to use the palm of his hand to undo the wrinkles in his pants. "New evidence was brought to the police."

"Can I ask who it was, or...?" Gavin started with, but did not finish.

"No," the lawyer said as he put the paperwork back in the files. "They chose to remain anonymous." The lawyer handed the boy's copies of both Wayne and Lisa's wills. The money would be sent to them in checks in the following two days. Before they left, she handed Leo an envelope. His name was written on it in his mother's handwriting. "This was written years ago and she told me to give it to you in the case of something like this."

When the boys left the office, photographers were outside waiting. They were not just from the island, but came from all over the country. They were shouting at them for answers.

"LEO!"

"Leo! How are you dealing with the grief?

"How is it like to have a felon father?!"

"GAVIN!"

The two of them made their way towards the G-Wagon and Gavin yanked the driver's door open. Leo quickly jumped into the passenger seat and shut the door. Gavin pressed the lock button and forced the key into the hole, twisting it, then pulled the lever to drive. The photographers backed out of the road and onto the sidewalk. Neither of them did not bother to play music on the way back to their hotel.

Lisa was turned into ashes, as per request, and given to Leo a couple days later. She never wanted to be buried. She had told this to Leo many times. He never thought how soon that time would come. She was in a red and orange headstone. The sun was beginning to rise.

The funeral was small. It was just Leo, Gavin, EJ, and Imani. They were all standing on the beach. The birds chirped and the breeze made the grain blow around. The waves were still and dormant.

Sand rustled around behind them and Leo turned around. It was a man approaching them. His hair wasn't buzzed, like it had been depicted in the news. The scar was still there, but primarily covered by his eyebrow hairs. He was wearing a black shirt and jeans.

"I'm sorry to intrude," he said to them. "I was told this was where Lisa's funeral would be."

Leo handed Gavin the headstone and stood up from the sand. "Who are you?"

With a hand extended outwards, the man said, "I'm Ed." Leo shook his hand. "I've known her my whole life. We went to the same schools here. Same graduating class. Even the same jobs up until our senior year of high school."

This monster he wanted to kill was not the monster after all. He was just an innocent man. With a nod, Leo said, "Thanks for coming. We were just going to dump the ashes in the water with some flowers."

Ed put his hands in his pockets. "She was always here." His eyes stared into Leo's. Her green eyes beamed at him. After a long second passed, he said, "She would've loved that." He turned around to see the crowd. "A couple more people wanted to join."

Leo glanced over Ed's shoulder. A few of them were familiar. He had seen them in photos, except they were now wrinkly and not teenagers. They were her old coworkers, friends, and family members. The only person he knew was EJ's boss, Mary. Her parents were in the crowd. He had never met them before, so they were just strangers to him. They all walked down the sand and stood there, holding each other's hands. Each of them was holding a flower. Before turning back around, Leo shook Ed's hand one more time.

The sun was beginning to rise. The horizon was glistening, waiting for him. There were multiple sets of eyes on Leo, waiting for his que. He walked back over to Gavin, who held out the headstone. Leo snatched it and began to walk towards the water. The crowd, including Imani, Gavin, and EJ, followed him. They all joined hands in a line with Leo in the lead. The water engulfed his legs, but remained calm. The group followed, but only went up to their ankles.

Leo felt a tear roll down his cheek as he looked out to the sky. The top of the sun was beginning to appear. His hands were steady as he peeled the lid off. There she was. She wanted to be free, and Leo didn't want to hold her back.

He held the headstone in front of him. He blinked his tears away. His hand curled and the ashes slowly flew out. Leo watched as they landed on top of the water. She was free. She swam in the water. She went far out into the horizon. The sun greeted her as she said goodbye to Leo.

The sun was fully out and the sky lit up. It was orange, pink, and yellow.

Leo faced the sun. The flowers started to float by him and follow Lisa. They were all different kinds. One tiger lily floated past Leo.
