It is said that if you are truly destined for each other, you would always see each other twice in life. Everyone's destiny is in the infinite stars, whether good or evil. And even the darkest and darkest soul would be able to find someone in this world who would love him with all his heart.
So come, my dear readers, and be eager, for I, your narrator, will tell you the story of the Evil Queen as no one has ever told it before.Early in the morning of a cold autumn day, a lonely horse rode through the bare and bleak landscape of a faraway kingdom. On its back, the fine brown animal carried a person wrapped in a black cloak. The hood was pulled deep into her face, so that she could not be recognized.
The stranger did not carry much, only the clothes she wore and some provisions to rest. And even if it was not much, it was enough to ensure survival. The sun had not yet fully emerged when the horse came to a stop and the person jumped off its back. The hood fell, revealing the face of a young woman. Dirt stained her cheeks and her hair was completely disheveled. The clothes she wore were full of scraps and rips and she looked like she had already been through a rough time.
"I think we gave them the slip" the woman murmured to the horse, petting it once affectionately before holding out an apple to the animal as a reward.
Y/N leaned slightly against a large oak tree and allowed herself to take a moment to breathe. Still, she did not let her attention rest for a second. She kept looking around the street, almost as if she were on the lookout for something or someone.
She was a prisoner and a runaway. Outlawed from the place that had once been her home. She had been detained, imprisoned and put in the service of the king to work for him. She had been robbed of her dignity, several times, and had been beaten and kept like cattle.
Only a few days ago she had had enough of it all. She wanted to escape her life, make a new start and leave behind all that had happened. With effort and hardship she had succeeded in escaping. She had stolen the horse that had been faithfully by her side ever since. Meanwhile, she had no idea how far she had ridden and how close the king's guards were after her to bring her back.
Days had passed in which she had last seen another human soul. She spent the nights and days riding until her horse could take no more and needed a rest. But the breaks were comparatively short, for Y/N could not afford to be caught by the king's guards. If they caught her, they would surely have her whipped and killed and even if her situation was still so unfortunate, Y/N was hanging on to her life and was not ready to lose it yet.
Some time had passed and in the meantime Y/N sat on the horse again to ride further north. From a distance, she could already see a small village. Windmills were turning in the wind and grinding the grain, farmers were working in the fields and merchants had already set up a market to sell their goods.
It was like a blessing for Y/N to finally be somewhat among people again. The loneliness she had carried in her heart since her escape gradually faded a little in the shadow of the many villagers. Most ignored her and went about their daily business instead, but every now and then some eyed her with curious glances.
"Have you heard yet? The queen has sent more guards to capture young girls from distant villages and bring them to her." As Y/N rode through the village, she heard occasional scraps of words from a group that had gathered in the marketplace.
Curious, she stopped and allowed herself to listen for a moment."What really?" a woman inquired incredulously. A slightly older man had his hands crossed in front of his chest and merely nodded somewhat thoughtfully. "Yes, I've been told that none of the girls she's captured so far have ever come out of her captivity. She has them locked in her dark dungeons and does something to them. This woman is a witch."
