     "Do you think they?"

      "She wouldn't"

     The pilots stare at Scarlett and Jake curled up together. Bradley had invited them over for dinner, and when Phoenix went to go wake up Scarlett this is what she found.

       "Are they dating?" Coyote ask phoenix.

        "I don't know, they've been going on dates a lot though"

      The pilots look over at Bradley to see what he thinks. He just stands with a straight face, arms crossed.

      The pilots continue to stand, speaking quietly. They made a few bets on whether the two were dating or not- Phoenix had 100 dollars that they were.

      "Whatever, I'm ordering takeout. What does everyone want?" Bradley ask, trying to distract himself from his sister and Jake.

    Everyone gives him their orders as he types it in on his phone.

     "What about Seresin?" Bradley asks.

      "I don't know, just get him shrimp fried rice" coyote suggest.

       "Okay, and Wendy's for Scar" Bradley mutters under his breath as he places the order, "Should be here in about 20 minutes" 

    The pilots head downstairs, letting the couple sleep. They sit on the couches watching some random show that came on. They continue to make bets, despite Roosters protests.

      "Ten buck rooster beats seresin up" Phoenix challenges.

       "Bet" Bob says, pulling out a ten.

      Someone knocking on the door interrupts their conversation. Rooster gets up and answers, while phoenix and Coyote run upstairs to wake up the two sleeping pilots.

       Coyote launches himself onto the bed, Phoenix right after him. Scarlett wakes up instantly. She sits up ad sees her two friends staring at her.

   "Are you two dating?" Phoenix asks.

    Before Scarlett could answer, Jake loops his arms around her waists pulling her closer. The look on Scarlett's face tells Phoenix everything. Phoenix squeals, confusing Javy, and waking up Jake.

    "What?" Jake asks, still half asleep.

     "YOU OWE ME A HUNDRED DOLLARS!" Phoenix yells at the top of her lungs, causing all the aviators to run upstairs.

      "They're dating?!" Bradley yells.

       "Oh shit" Scarlett nervously laughs.

       "I leave for 5 hours and you get a boyfriend?!"

Scarlett gets out of bed ignoring Rooster, Jake stays in bed wrapped up in blankets.

"I'm a grown woman, and you cannot be talking about me getting a boyfriend when you leave for five hours. You got a girlfriend when I left for ten minutes"

Rooster couldn't argue, she was right. And she had known Jake since her first year at Top Gun. Everyone knew that they had chemistry, it was just a matter of time.

Rooster sighs before saying, "I got you Wendy's"

"Ooh yay" Scarlett says as she starts to walk downstairs, the rest of the squadron following behind her.

The next day

It was mission day, and tensions were high on the boat. Everyone wanted to be on the mission.

Scarlett wandered into the locker room and started putting on her flight suit.

"Hello darlin"

Scarlett smiles, "hello Jake"

"Are you ready for this mission?"

"No, but I don't think any of us are"

Scarlett zips up her flight suit as she lays on a bench in the center of the locker room. Jake leans down and kisses her forehead. They had only been dating for a day, yet to Scarlett it felt longer than that.

"It has been an honor flying with you. Each one of you represents the best of the best. This is a very specific mission"

Scarlett didn't think she would make it. She was a hell of a pilot, but she was too petty, and she knew it. Meanwhile Rooster was more suited for this mission. Scarlett didn't have high hopes.

"My choice is a reflection of that and nothing more"

"Choose your two foxtrot teams"

"Payback and Fanboy. Phoenix and Bob"

Scarlett smiles when she hears phoenix's name get called.

"And your wingman"

This was the moment everyone was waiting for. Would it be Jake, Scarlett, or Bradley? Scarlett stands staring straight ahead, waiting for maverick to make his decision.

    "Rooster"

   I'm not surprised

     "The rest of you will stand by on the carrier for any reserve roll that's required"

    Scarlett looks over at Jake, trying to see what's he's thinking.

   "Dismissed"

   Scarlett walks over and hugs Phoenix and Bob, before heading towards her brother. She doesn't say anything, she just hugs him. Rooster was still in shock from being chosen.

     Scarlett had gone to find Jake, but she couldn't find him anywhere, so instead she made her way to the radio tower. She watched as everyone started getting in their planes, wondering what it would be like if it was her down there.

    She watches as the plane start to get into formation. Scarlett finally spots Jake, he was talking to Rooster. She had no idea why they were saying. She watches as Jake walks off towards the locker rooms.

   Scarlett makes her way from the radio tower to the locker room, wanting to talk to Jake.

   "Hey" Scarlett says as she walks into the locker room.

     "Hey" Jake replies, he was sitting on the bench, his head hung low.

      "Are you okay?" Scarlett asks softly as she sits beside him.

      "Not really, we trained so hard for this just to be put on standby. It's not fair"

       "It's not fair, I wanted to be on this mission so badly" Scarlett trails off, as if she lost her train of thought.

     Jake turns and hugs Scarlett, the two sit in silence.

     "We need to head to our planes" Scarlett finally says, "just in case."

         "You're right" Jake says, standing. He holds out his hand, Scarlett grabs it as she stands. Jake kisses her cheek, before they head out to their planes.

Two days ago I was thanking you guys for 100 reads, now I'm thanking you guys for 200 reads. I never thought people would read this, I was just writing for fun.
