Warnings: Smut and Angst. Mentions of cheating⚠️
Your heart was still healing from the previous relationship you were in. It ended because your partner decided you weren't enough and rather than telling you and talking it out, you had to find out the harder and hurtful way.
Cheating.
They were fooling around with their colleague from work. You would see the two of them hanging out a lot and having photos of them together saved in their phone. They would assure you that she's just a friend and that they usually talk about work. You trusted them even when you saw the obvious signs, ignoring them like they were nothing. That's until the colleague found out and contacted you, immediately telling you what your partner really was and that they were nothing but a liar. She empathise for you, knowing you were completely in the dark about this. Well, technically, you knew. You could tell. You just didn't want to believe it.
A month has gone by, and it still feels like your heart has been freshly torn apart, the wound feeling so excruciating and painful. You were alone. Were you?
Shuri. I have Shuri. Shuri was your best friend. You two always done things together and although she was a princess and you were a regular person, it didn't change anything about your unique friendship with her. She was still human. She always made you laugh. Made you dance. She took care of you when no one would. When you fell ill, she made sure she nursed you back to health. You always wondered why she was so nice to you. Effortlessly caring. No friend would ever do so much stuff for their own friends. You thought maybe she was someone that felt the need to please people all the time to avoid not getting ditched and left alone.
You felt bad because now you were missing her love and care. It's your fault though. You broke contact after the horrible breakup. Stopped answering calls or texts. Once in a while she would knock on your door to check up on you, but you never want to answer. A few days ago, she sat by your door and gave you a small pep talk, you stood by the door, listening to every word she said, loving how her voice heals bits of your heart. You still never opened the door.
Right now, you just wished she came back because maybe this time, you might open up to her. Your phone was in your hands, contemplating if you should start talking to Shuri again. Let her know you missed her. You lingered around the text button, typing and deleting paragraphs that you wanted to say to her. In the end, you just closed your phone and shut your eyes, going to sleep as you try and forget about everything.

"Y/N, are you there?" You heard knocking. You weren't sure if it was a dream but it sounded a lot like Shuri. You finally got up, tired and a huge mess. It then hit you, Shuri is here.
It was like your wish was granted from yesterday and you were feeling so grateful to the universe. However, you also felt nervous and embarrassed. How were you going to face her looking like complete crap? Not only that, you didn't know how she would act around you. All sorts of thoughts just ran through your head, making you pace around your apartment.
