Pirates and love

Chapter 2

I rolled my eyes and gave a bitter look as the pirate, Scrum handed me a bucket and a mop. I went below deck, angrily pushed the mop in the bucket, causing water to splash out.

'Ah, that's not very nice. What did the mop ever do to you?' A voice called.

I spuna round to see my opponent from yesterday, cabin boy, with a mop in his hand and a smirk on his face. I rolled my eyes.

'Well, this isn't what I expected in the life of a pirate.' I answered, mopping the deck.

'Well, being cabin boy wasn't what I wanted either but I guess you've got to start somewhere.' He answered. I stared at him.

'Why are you really here? I doubt it's more than mopping below deck.' I asked. He shifted uncomfortably.

'Well, for starters , I'd settle for your name.' He answered.

'Allegra. And yours?'

'Lucas. You know you don't fight bad. For a girl.'

'As to you. Though no offense, your coordination sucks.'

'Hey!' He protested. I laughed. My god, he was cute.

After about 30 minutes of mopping, he piped up.

'Hey! Why not we help each other with our skills. You can help me with coordination and I'll teach you some of the tricks I know.' He suggested. I raised an eyebrow. I've nevered sparred with anyone except Mum and Dad and occasionally Will if I'm bloody pissed off with him.

'C'mon,' he pestered, noticing my hesitation. 'Just two friends and sparring partners looking to better than skills?'

'Well... why not?' I answered. He grinned. I looked around.

'By the way? Where's Will? I don't see him doing any chores.' I asked. He looked up above.

'You might not want to know...' he answered nervously. I looked in his direction. And saw Will up on the mast, overlooking everything.

'Steady as she goes,' he told a nearby officer before leaving to the chart room.

I gripped my mop, furious out of my wits. That bastard got elected bloody first mate on his first bloody day???!!

'That's it.' I muttered, throwing my mop on the ground before marching off, ready to give Barbossa and Will a piece of my mind.
