NEVERS AND EVERS filled the dining hall, amidst the loud and chaotic scenes that were occurring, there was a table containing Silas and her friends.

"I'm excited for our next class! I finally get to show my werewolf powers!" Hort exclaimed, taking a bite of his food. "Our magic is limited, Hort. Though, there's this thing that they call a finger glow. They said we should be getting ours in a few days." Hester replied, wondering what it would be like when she gets her finger glow. "Lady Lesso is teaching our next class." Anadil suddenly spoke, eyeing Silas for a bit. The former was a bit excited to see if the latter was going to do the same thing she did during Uglification.

"She's the Dean, why should she be teaching?" Hester asked, earning a shrug from Anadil. Meanwhile, Dot was sitting next to Silas who was enjoying her plate of food, the taller girl kept quiet as she ate, causing Dot to speak up. "You don't talk much, do you?" the curly-haired girl asked, face in her hands as she looked at Silas. "Well, I don't have much to say, Dot." The latter replies, eyes never leaving her plate. "You don't, yeah. But when you do say something, it's always something that's helpful." Dot replies, taking a bite of her chocolate. Silas was about to speak up until she heard footsteps behind her, well, more like running to her.

"Hey! Silas!" One of them spoke, stopping beside the girl and causing the first-years to look up. It was them, the three second-years she had encountered earlier this morning. "Sierra over here didn't get a fail on Hex Class today, and it's all thanks to you!" He continued, excitedly wrapping his arm around Silas's shoulders before pointing to the blonde girl beside them.

"Idiot! We haven't introduced ourselves!" The girl named Sierra spoke, hitting the boy on the back of his head. "Oh! Right! My name is Tom, that is Jack, and that over there is Sierra!" Tom spoke, the two shyly waving at Silas.

"I'm Silas, pleased to meet you." The emerald-haired first-year spoke, giving them a nod. "I'm glad that I could be of help to you. You're welcome." She continued, giving them a small smile, making them chuckle.

"Well, anyways! We just wanted to thank you, that's all! Also, you're welcome to join us at our table anytime, you can even bring your friends if you'd like!" Sierra spoke, giving Silas a smile for the first time. "I'll keep that in mind, thanks." The latter thanked the three.

"Alright then, see you later, Silas!" Jack smiled, waving goodbye at Silas, causing Sierra and Tom to do the same. Silas gave them a wave back, trying to be polite before turning back to her food. The other four first-years all looked at each other with wide eyes, surprised that Silas was making more friends, not to mention, they were second-years, too. While she was eating, Silas could feel eyes boaring holes at her head.

"Hmm?" She raised an eyebrow at her friends. "How do you know them?" Hester asked, holding in a chuckle. "From this morning. Just gave them a few pointers regarding their powers is all." Silas responded, rubbing her face with a napkin after finishing her food. "You just made friends with the second-years, that's a big deal, mate." Hort says, hands in his hair while looking at Silas, impressed.
"I wouldn't say friends, but acquaintances. Yeah, fits better." She softly smirked, nodding.

Could this be the start of that wonderful something?

There was deafening silence that could be heard for miles around the empty room. With the pretext of using the restroom, Silas sneaked away from her friends so she might be the first one to arrive at their next class. Silas was surprised that the teacher wasn't there yet, but now that she's given it some thought, the school's Dean is supposed to be teaching them today. Being in charge of such a large institution comes with a lot of responsibilities, so you can't always show up on time for a class.
