SILAS WAS EARLY, as usual. At this early hour, it was just her and the deafening silence that engulfed the dining hall. The emerald-haired student sported a dark green silk button-up shirt, paired with black trousers and black loafers. Silas really took the whole "professor" thing very seriously.

Unfortunately, there was no suit jacket for today, when she had checked the lobby for it before she went to the dining hall, said jacket wasn't there.

And there's a really high chance that someone stole that thing. Well, whoever stole that jacket, Silas hoped that they will enjoy it as much as she did.

But Silas' thinking was cut off by the sound of the door opening, she looked in the direction only to reveal the Reader, Sophie. The blonde herself was shocked that she wasn't the only one who was early. She was at the dining hall with the Unyielding Miracle, and though back in Gavaldon, everyone thought that the story was just a myth, the young Reader herself never lost hope and still believed in what common folk would call folklore.

When Sophie witnessed the flaming hair and those eyes back in the welcoming ceremony, she knew that it was the Unyielding Miracle. Which led her into thinking, Silas might be the one to help her with her current Rafal situation, but given that the emerald-haired student was quite close with Lady Lesso, Silas might rat her out.

But it wouldn't hurt to gamble, right?

She approached Silas' table with such confidence, giving herself a mental pep talk as she did.

"H-hi. Is it okay if I sit h-here?" Sophie stuttered, asking the girl and Silas seemed a bit hesitant, but then again, Sophie was a Never. One of them. So she just nodded as a silent response. When Sophie sat next to her, they were greeted with a rather awkward silence and Silas wondered whether to tell Sophie that Rafal visited her last night and was somehow roped into this little game that he was playing.

However, she remembered what her father taught her. Keep your cards close to your chest. So she decided not to, but there was this voice in her head telling her that Sophie might need her help one day, so she decided to keep an eye out for that.

Silas was somehow enjoying the awkward but quiet atmosphere that surrounded them, but Sophie was not. So she had decided to start a conversation with the emerald-haired girl beside her.

To Sophie, this was conversation, but for Silas, this was small talk.

When the dining hall started to get crowded, Silas had separated from Sophie and went to meet with her friends, the blonde understood why; they were Silas' friends. And it didn't help that Sophie was currently in a mental warfare with Hester.

However, Silas learned a lot about the Reader. Sophie mentioned that her best friend named Agatha that was in the School for Good, the blonde mentioned that back in Gavaldon, the two of them always used to talk about the Unyielding Miracle.

While the blonde was talking earlier, Silas could sense that Sophie did have fear inside her. Though, Sophie hadn't mentioned anything that involved Rafal to Silas. Not yet at least.

"Did you talk to the Reader?" Hester asked since she caught Sophie's eyes that were currently on Silas.

"A bit, yes. Why?" The emerald-haired student tilted her head curiously. "Oh, it's nothing. Just seems like she's got her eyes on you." The former teased, shrugging before turning her attention back to Anadil.

With her words, they were enough to make Silas turn to Sophie's table where she sat alone, and to her surprise, the blonde Reader was staring at her. But when their eyes met, Sophie looked away and turned her attention back to her food. Silas had found it strange before turning her attention to Hort who was stuffing his mouth with the blueberry mini-muffins he had on his plate.
