The Abandoned Plains. (RZA Pt.3)

Magical Mishap

After talking to Flam, Grebito went to see what Van and Helistin were doing. When Grebito saw them she saw Van and Helistin trying to make a garden that they could use to grow crops. Grebito went over to them.

"Ok 10 ft long and 20 ft wide and the seeds are 3ft apart from each other. Do we have that all correct?" Helistin asked.

"10,3,3,3,20 Yeah we got it all good enough." Van said a bit tired.

"Ok Van you're up then." Helistin said standing back.

Van took a deep breath, stepped back and opened his book.

Grebito wondering what was going on, came closer

"By the goddess of nature and life I cast ,Fertilize!" Van said as a green wave went over the crops as they grew to harvestable levels.

Then they kept growing and growing.

"Uhh Van can you stop it?" Grebito said nervously as the crops grew to ten ft.

Van was unnaturally silent as he flipped through his book for some kind of answer to this problem.

Grebito tried to get Mosquito to bite the plants but it didn't work as Mosquito bit down and rose with the crops so let go and returned to Grebito.

Calmo also came over and tried to chop down a stalk but before she could chop down it just continued growing.

While everyone was panicking Helistin stepped up, looked down at his book and said "Disenchant!" when he said it a white bolt fired from his palms into the crops as they stopped growing.

Everyone was silent at Helistin's spell.

"You can use magic?" Calmo said joining in after the crops did not stop growing

"Apparently." Helistin said with as much surprise as everyone else.

"What do you mean "Apparently"?" Flam asked, joining back with the crew after his trip down memory lane.

"Well I've only been researching magic and I thought that it would fail and give me more valuable data but well, it worked." Helistin said while looking at his hand.

"How could you use magic without being chosen by the gods?" Van asked coldly.

"I guess I just used the magic in my soul like everyone else." Helistin said a bit confused.

"No that's not how it works, only the elemental gods can use magic and they give their power to people like ME!" Van yelled angrily.

"Look Van I'm not entirely sure where magic comes from it's very unknown so let's calm down." Helistin said, trying to calm down Van.

"IT comes from the gods!" Van yelled.

The team looked concerned at Van's uncharacteristic outburst.

Van looked around at the rest and realized no one was agreeing with him.

"Fine if you all are ok with denying the truth, then I'm gone." Van said leaving the team.

"Wait Van, that's a very bad idea. It's not safe!" Calmo said but it was useless as Van left the team

And went further into The Abandoned Plains.
