Bitter Reunion

After Van left the team was stunned and didn't know what to do.

"Well we have to follow him." Calmo said.

"Even if we did and even if we find him I highly doubt that he will return with us." Helistin said sadly.

The team after hours of debate left Van on his own and returned to their journey to the mountains. The mood was sad the team had lost a cherished member and they had to just trek on without him. After hours they just decided to finally set up camp.

While Calmo and Flam were setting up camp, Grebito went to Helistin to talk.

"Hey Helistin I never got a chance to ask you but what magic can you do?" Grebito asked.

Helistin looked up at Grebito "Huh oh well I'm not entirely sure but if my training wasn't in vain then I guess just simple incantations and spells." Helistin answered, letting a spark ignite in his hand.

"Could you be able to remove a curse or reverse one?" Grebito asked.

"Probably not Disenchant can only remove only simple spells, curses are way more complex. It would take me decades just to weaken a curse let alone remove one. Helistin said sadly.

Grebito said nothing and just went back to the cart. When she got there Mosquito landed next to her and chirped.

"No luck buddy I guess we just hope Van returns and he can." Grebito said to Mosquito.

While Grebito went back to the cart Helistin just got his tent up and was practicing spells.

"Ok let's see how about-" Helistin raised his hand and casted. " Chain up!" A string of chains shot out of the ground latched themselves on to nothing before disappearing back into the ground. Helistin wrote down the findings in a book before continuing on.

"Spikes!" Helistin said. Both tiny and giant spikes erupted from the ground and went in a straight direction before stopping; they stayed up until Helistin casted the spikes away.

Calmo and Flam were talking about there shared lost of -

"VAN!?" Calmo yelled.

The team looked over at Van returning back from the distance. Grebito ran up to Van hugging him " I thought you were gone." She said tears were falling down.

"Yeah I realized I was being dumb so I decided to return." Van said calmly.

"So you are still not mad at me for using magic?" Helistin said.

"No, just cause you don't need some dumb god doesn't mean you shouldn't use magic." Van said.

After his swift return the team had a small party before going to sleep. The next day was better with Van "Hey Van where's your book?" Flam asked.

Van simply looked around for a bit . "Guess I lost it." he said before walking away.

Flam stood there for a second before returning to the team.
