There are frequent moments, of when I look into a person's eyes
I see a shine whenever they talk about something
That they are passionate about, something that they really enjoy
You could say it's the light that's reflecting
Off of their eyes
It could be, which is why I rely on
Certain pauses, intonation, and most importantly
Getting to stare at them directly
But when I rule all of that out and get to
Staring at them eye to eye, there's that stillness
Seeing the shine in their eyes,
Indicating that they are still alive
Alive in a sense that they have the courage
To break off draining routines and gently
Discover something different and time consuming
But it fulfills every part of what they love to do
I want to do my best in the idea that
No matter where I go, that there's a shine
In my eyes, the flickering determination
To discover something that is fulfilling and
Something I feel passionate about
