Apply the make up
Let it cook
Don't forget to tuck
Do it by the book
Who is behind it that mask you hide
And all of those girly rules must abide
Leather tightening, cinching your waist
Give them a show give them a taste
Screams and cheers from anonymous faces
As you lip sync and dance in your shoes
Vodka and coke chugged, as if in races
Sure who doesn't love booze?
The lights go down
You're sweaty and panting
You remove the make up
Your old face back haunting
Going back out still noticed still loved
Becoming a drag fit like a glove
Revel in the leather the whips the chains
Give them a night to remember
Stay melded to their brains

Background Story:
So this one is about being a drag queen and all the feelings that come with it. Being able to create a new face, going out there unrecognizable to family and friends. It must be a real rush, and you gain confidence because no one knows it's you and you feel great because you look good. I will always admire drag queens for their passion and artistry. I don't know how they walk in those heels though like I would break my neck and rupture every artery if I tried. Basically just wanted to have a fun little poem and this fit into that category for me.
Currently in love with this song, Adore+Alaska are talented squirrel friends (get it because they are hiding them nuts)
Hope you all get a chance to dive into drag ;) even if it is just on Halloween. You might enjoy it.
