Crushing roses in your hand
Shielding your veins from love
As the oils infuse with your scent
And I finally can't taste you anymore
Licking the edge of the ice cream
It's septic enamel winding down your skin
Through the bumps, cracks, and hairs
Just like our relationship, you chose not to care
If birds fell from the sky
And your eyes flew from their sockets
As your heart was crushed in front of your feeble eyes
Would you still walk away from me?
You were like my old boots, dusty and worn
But I liked the peeling leather, it was charming
Just like you used to be
But just like those boots you walked away
I no longer crave your cracked lips
I no longer wait for you to come home
No longer will I stay on the floor
Because love, doesn't live here
At least not anymore

Background Story:
This was just entirely based on the song I swear I'll write a better back story for this one; right now this hangover is kicking my butt. On to the next poem woo *meagre arm flailing*
Song chosen because it's what I based the poem on.
Hope none of you let love leave.
