Demon,

26 8 2

Lumpy tendrils pulling you down

Dragging your limp body into nothingness

Destroying the soul you never needed

Feeling like a warning you should have heeded

Each and every night

While you hold your pillow tight

It crawls up inside you

And whispers goodnight

Sometimes it likes to bite

On your neck or arms

And leave you feeling dishevelled

It's a shame you are disarmed

But when the demons in you

Few believe your being true

To what and who you are

You're no longer a star

So when you lay to sleep tonight

Clutch that pillow ever so tight

Whisper your prayers

And maybe you'll survive the night

Background Story:

I just really wanted to create a creepy little nursery rhyme for adults. A mythical demon that makes you attack yourself while you sleep. We all wake up with bumps and bruises and cuts. I just figured why not explain where they come from in a delightful way.

The song was chosen because I thought of a funny little image of a demon just bursting through the door and singing that song. It's a terrible excuse but it's all I've got.

Hope I didn't scare any of you too much.
