I groaned rolling over and pulling my body from the lake; the hell? I should've sunk to the bottom. I winced at the pounding in my head and I ran my hands over my temple to soothe the pain; "Thorn Lucilfer, age 25 half human half demon." My eyes narrowed and I looked up seeing a man in front of me, he was easily above six feet with long black hair that draped down his spine and wore dark blue frames, joy a reaper. "Well no longer half-human," my orbs widened as he clicked his pen and wrote as he spoke; "Half demon and half reaper." My orbs widened, wait reapers? I folded my brows and clenched the drenched clothes closer to my body. His green gaze looked over me and the clipboard disappeared as he pulled off a traditional coat that laid over his kimono; "Here," he spoke pulling the overcoat on my shoulders and I folded my brows. "So, I'm a" I covered a cough as the man frowned, "Take it easy, you just drowned yourself;" he stayed crouched and then helped me up, my legs felt weak as I stumbled and he held my shoulder; "Stop rushing yourself," He scolded as I groaned feeling the pounding worsen, of course, a bullet will do that. His grip tightened and my body stiffened, "Stop squirming and lean on me," his voice was quiet as I stepped back stumbling and hitting my back against a tree. He sighed, running his hands through his hair; "Will you listen, we need to get you to the association." he spoke, his tone was cool yet held authority and I folded my brows; "I'm a damn demon, you lot hate my kind," I reasoned my voice cracked at the end making us both wince, he sighed; "I know, did you not know?" He asked and I shook my head as his orbs widened; "All I knew is you guys hated us for some reason," He pursed his lips as I hacked up some water; "Fuck," I hissed using my clothes to wipe my mouth careful not to ruin his clothes more than I already had. "Miss Lucilfer I can't help you if you don't let me, I'll speak to the higher-ups but I need to get you back to the association." He spoke, now standing in front of me; "What's your name?" I asked and he smiled; "Ryuko Shoku." Japanese? Ryuko held out a hand, "Now let me help you Lucilfer." I paused then took his hand.
I kept an arm at the woman's shoulder, her body swayed as we walked past other reapers. But, they paid us no mind, some saw her clothes and understood the situation. My gaze shifted back to her, making sure she stayed steady as her strength recovered, the higher-ups had no choice but to accept her. She is now a reaper, after all, I wonder if she knows her demon parent? She clenched the overcoat closer to her frame and I noticed a slight glow in her heterochromia orbs. In her files she was shown with blue eyes, now one was a striking green. Her white hair stuck and strung to her damp skin and she unconsciously gulped down air, it was probably a habit since she lived with the humans her whole life. I glanced over the houses, spotting mine, "Ryuko since she seems to trust you she will be stationed in your home with your other roommate, you are to train her, and if she gets out of hand, kill her." My brows folded, those damned higher-ups, she's still a person you can't just hate her because she's half demon she didn't choose to be one. "You'll be living with me and my roommate," she glanced at me and nodded softly as I opened the door, she attempted to walk in by herself but stumbled and I caught her; "Hey, don't rush your body is still weak." She grumbled making me grin at the woman; "Come on," I spoke as she frowned, puffing her cheeks at me. My gaze softened, she reminds me of my sister, I grinned ruffling the damp hair making the woman blink and raise a brow and I chuckled letting her take a seat. "I'll get Adrian, okay?" She nodded, by now the clothes were dry so the couch shouldn't get wet. Slipping past the stairs and into the kitchen I saw the grumpy newcomer sipping coffee; "We got another newbie, be nice" his lime eyes shot to me and he nodded pulling himself up, taking his mug as he followed me. "Thorn this is Adrian, he's also a newcomer like you." her mixed eyes scanned over him as he paused, raising a brow at the woman; yet he didn't say anything; "Nice to meet you?" She spoke, her voice rasping out as she winced and he walked over offering the coffee, she paused then took it thanking him softly, and drank some; "Nice to meet you too," I paled, right he as a deep voice, her gaze shifted to him and she gave a soft nod.
