Chapter 4||Raising Hell||

I rolled over, feathers fluttering in my room as I groaned when I hit the floor; "I told you," Adrian spoke and I pulled my body up and peeked over the bed; "Shush," he grinned glancing at me and I paused; his silver hair was down, bangs brushed aside as brilliant lime eyes captured my gaze. I never realized exactly how handsome Adrian is, a sharp jaw thin lips, cute dimples for those who make him smile and he had a sharp upturned nose. The scars added to his looks, yet I still remember what he looked like without those and he was handsome no matter what. But, he's also charming, funny, and sweet. He has grown to be a protective man who would do anything for those he cared for. He grinned tilting his head and poking my nose making me puff my cheeks and grumbled as I laid my arms on my bed. "Stop being cute and get back up here," I blinked and he stiffened, our faces darkened as he used the book to shield his face and I buried mine into the blanket. "Hey-what's happening here?" Ryuko stopped midway now staring at us, he sighed and shook his head; "Okay lovebirds get up we're leaving." Heh? We seemed to mentally agree on ignoring the first part and spoke in unison; "Leaving?" He raised a brow, "Did you both forget? I, you two, Axel and Edward have a mission today, get up and let's go." We glanced at each other then shrugged as we slipped up; "This is a big party, how many are we reaping?" Adrian asked cleaning his glasses as I gripped his coat; Ryuko grinned at us summoning his book as Axel and Edward slipped over. "It's a huge gala, we have 68 souls to reap;" he said as Edward let out a whistle. "I'm kinda nervous never reaped this many souls," Axel spoke and Adrian set his glasses on, releasing his coat I nudged the redhead. "No worries, you got three skilled reapers with ya." He smiled and nodded; "You're right, thank you, Thorn." Ryuko fixed his glasses as we passed into the human realm; "Thorn you'll need to wear a dress." I froze slowly turning to the man, "Do I have to..?" Adrian smiled ruffling my bangs as Ryuko chuckled; "Yes if you wear a pantsuit you'll draw attention." He stated as I groaned, "If she wore a dress men would flock to her," Edward chimed resting his hands behind his head. Axel hummed glancing at me and nodded; "Yeah, Thorn is probably one of the most beautiful women I've seen." Axel claimed and I raised a brow, "I'm not that pretty, I mean I have looks but I'm not that good-looking?" I spoke making Axel chuckle and Edward grin, I glanced at the other two; "No there right," Ryuko spoke; "With your demon genes adding to your natural charm and you have natural curves most women don't have." Heh? I raised a brow seeing Adrian agree by softly nodding his head; "Then I'll wear pants if it's such a big deal, I'm already wearing some now anyways." I motioned to my pantsuit, and white button-up that hugged my figure, and my swords were strapped to my hips as my red heels clicked against the concrete. Ryuko sighed and Adrian opened the folder, "It's a formal event," he said leaning down so I could look, right glasses. I shoved them on my face and grumbled, dammit. "We have a few days before the event, let's all get clothes I can't wear this kimono anyways and Edward a t-shirt won't do either." The man grunted as Axel chuckled; "Is my trench coat okay?" Adrian asked as I set my glasses away, Ryuko hummed; "It'll probably be best to put a button-up under it." He nodded and Axel glanced at himself, he was in formal wear, blue pinstripe pants a black button-up, and a blue vest with a gold pocket watch. "Axel your good," Ryuko spoke and the man chuckled rubbing the nape of his neck. I guess will be buying clothes today. 

I scanned shops, we split up a while ago, and I still haven't found anything. I paled entered another shop and paused, Adrian would look good in that. I walked over feeling the fabric and hummed, his size too. I'll get this for him, he needs a new trench coat anyways. The ends of his current one are frayed. I held the coat over my arm, I still don't see anything I like. Why is everything so frilly nowadays? What happened to the simpler gowns? "Is this all for you ma'am?" I nodded at the cashier and she wrapped it for me, I raised a brow as she smiled; "You always gotta wrap a gift, especially for someone special." My orbs widened at the elder woman's almost knowing smile and I chuckled. "Thank you, I appreciate it, ma'am." I smiled as she nodded handing me the box I paid her a bit extra making her gaze soften at me as I excused myself. "Hello there beautiful," I paled at the man in front of me, he held a cocky smirk as he looked me up and down. "Dangerous one isn't ya, I do love a challenge," he cooed as I cringed at his words, "I have places to be sir, leave me alone," I spoke making him chuckle and look back at some of his buds who shook their heads at him; sighing I walked past him but he grabbed my arm. "Awe leaving so soon, at least let me bed you," I scowled pulling my arm and smacking him, "Keep your disgusting hands off me, and don't you ever say that to me or any woman again you creep." I seethed as he held his cheek and whipped his head around as I glared, "You bitch, I'll-" A long black nail was pointed at his skull and I looked back, "Adrian," I whispered as he wrapped his arm around me pulling me into his chest. "Are you alright?" I nodded as he held my waist and he glared at the shorter man, "She said to leaver her alone, listen." He gulped as I rested my hand on his chest, "She wasn't wearing a ring so I didn't know-" His brow twitched, as he lowered his hand and sighed running his hands through his bangs and pulling them back. "That is no excuse, what gentleman forces themself on a woman that's just pathetic." I grinned at him as he rested his other arm on my shoulder; "Hey you two okay!" Edward walked around with Axel in tow, "Ryuko sent us to find you two!" The man gulped, "Hey Sawyer leave them alone, let's go." Sawyer grumbled glancing at our group as the two stood with us; "This guy gives ya a problem Thorn?" Edward spoke cracking his knuckles and Axel lowered his hand, "Edward we have shit to do, no violence, for now." I paled, Axel is kinda scary. The man backed up; "I'm sorry," he grunted out and left, "Is this why you always stick with us?" I paled, giving a dry chuckle as he cupped my face; "Yeah...this happens a lot..." I glanced away as he sighed, "On a side note I got something for you," he raised a brow and chuckled taking the box and Edward chuckled; "I'm surprised you didn't knock his lights out, your punches really hurt." He grumbled rubbing his shoulder, "We can't afford to get in a brawl right now, Axel you alright?" I spoke catching his attention; "Ah yeah, they're watching us and I was keeping an eye on them." I hummed seeing the group, "Let's head back to Ryuko." Adrian spoke and we agreed, he set a hand on my back as we slipped off.
