Little 3-year-old Lloyd lay in his bed in the nursery. He was wide awake, all snuggled up to the blanket. He was listening to the horrifying thunder storm that raged outside of the casita. It sounded like giants growling and stomping towards the Encanto. Lloyd could almost imagine something like that happening.
Once again, thunder struck with a big flash that lit up the whole room. Lloyd let a screech escape his mouth as he curled up in a ball, now completely covered by the blanket. The little one was trembling and hugging his dragon plushie tight.
"Papi, Mami…" the toddler wept.
Another loud crash and a flash appeared, making Lloyd squeak. He quickly wiggled his way out of the blanket and dashed out of the nursery. He came into the breezeway, seeing how the sky above was covered by dark storm clouds. The only source of light in the dark were the glowing doors of Lloyd's family members.
Lloyd first considered going to his mother's room, where both of his parents slept, but decided against it when his emerald eyes landed on another door.
The little boy rushed to the specific door and pushed it open. He saw the familiar room behind it and heard light snoring coming from the bed. He quickly entered the room and shut the door.
Making his way over to the bed, Lloyd clutched his dragon plushie. He shivered from the cool breezes that crossed the room every now and then.
"Mowwo," Lloyd whispered, climbing onto the bed. "Mowwo, wakey up."
The 6-year-old Morro opened his eyes and mumbled sleepily, "What, Lloyd?"
"Scawed," Lloyd squeaked. "Thundew is loud."
Morro sighed. "Sleep here, green bean."
A smile spread across Lloyd's face as he cuddled close to his cousin, closing his eyes again. He felt much safer now that he knew that his cousin was there to protect him from the growling giants.
