It was an exceptionally windy day in the town of Encanto. More windy than usual. It was almost stormy.
Despite the poor weather, it was an important day. It was the day Morro would receive his elemental power. The 5-year-old was excited to the bits while most of the adults were a little concerned. They were not sure if the candle blessed adopted children or not. Wu had been a nervous wreck during the last couple of weeks for that very reason. As if that was not enough stress, little Morro was making matters even worse by…
"I'm getting my element! I'm getting my element! I'm getting my element! I'm getting my element!" The little boy screamed from the top of his lungs, running around the dining table.
Wu sighed, rubbing his temples to prevent a migraine from developing. He looked beyond tired due to having lost his sleep over the anxiety and stress caused by today's event.
"Morro, please stop screaming," Misako pleaded as she set the table for breakfast.
"Tía! I'm getting my elemental power thingy today!" Morro screeched, about ready to erupt from excitement. "And it will be the best ever and so super duper cool and everything!"
Garmadon, who sat next to his brother, grinned. "Hey Wu, you managed to adopt your polar opposite."
"Thank you for pointing it out," Wu mumbled, clearly having gotten the unwanted migraine.
"Don't worry, it'll be fine," the Master of Destruction reassured, taking a sip of his coffee.
"But what if the candle won't react to Morro?" The Master of Creation worried. "What if the candle won't give him an element for he is not a biological descendant?"
"Well, maybe that storm will blow out the candle before we get that far," Garmadon mumbled with an amused smirk on his face.
"Garmadon! Don't stress him out any further," Misako reproached.
"I was just saying—"
Suddenly, the loud crying of a toddler echoed from upstairs. It made the floor tiles bounce like a sound wave and startled Garmadon, who accidentally exploded his cup of coffee.
"Argh!" The Master of Destruction let out, wiping the spilled coffee off of his face.
The crying seemed to get a hundred times louder.
"It seems Lloyd woke up, brother," Wu smiled.
"Oh really?" Garmadon rolled his eyes and headed out of the kitchen, putting some earplugs on on the way. "I'm coming, you little monster."
Wu turned to look at Morro, who had still not run out of energy. He was running around the table at quite the fast pace. The father waited until his little son ran past him and quickly caught him in his arms.
"No more running, little hurricane," Wu told him. "Otherwise you'll be exhausted in the evening."
"I won't be exhausted! I'll never run out of energy!" Morro exclaimed. "I must be the Master of Energy!"
"I would not be surprised," Wu admitted. Morro was more energetic than most children and strong for his age. He was already good at martial arts and had mastered the art of bolting around in the house.
"Where's Lloyders? I need to show him how fast I can run from the other side of the courtyard to the other!" Morro said.
"Tío will bring him downstairs soon," the father informed.
Just as Wu had gotten those words out of his mouth, Garmadon returned downstairs with the little 2-year-old Lloyd in his arms. The toddler was rubbing his sleepy and teary eyes, letting out whiny sounds in the process.
