Victor made eye contact with Smiley...that's when he realized what he was doing to the boy. He quickly let let of him and pushed him away. Smiley was crying and was shaking violently.

"I'm so sorry, sugar. I didn't mean to touch you like that." Victor said. He was being truthful, he felt horrible for doing that to Smiley.

"No...you're not. If you were 'sorry' you would've treated me better. You wouldn't have cut my arm off, you wouldn't be sexually assaulting almost every day, and if you actually loved me ,you wouldn't be hooking up with your victims." Smiley said between sobs. He was right. If Victor actually loved him, which he did, he wouldn't be doing all that.

"I think I need to go now," Smiley muttered.

"Oh okay, love. Do you need anything before you go?" Victor was trying to make things better, but this time he really messed up.

"No...no, I think you've done enough now." Smiley replied. He was at the door when he heard Victor say something he never thought he would hear.

"You don't have to come back tomorrow...or ever." Victor whispered. Smiley turned around. Victor was now standing up writing something down.

"What?"

"I'm giving you your freedom. You deserve it after everything I've done to you. You don't have to work for me anymore."

Smiley was confused. He didn't like Victor how was acting. Those words hurt Smiley more than he thought they would. Instead of turning the doorknob and leaving, Smiley ran up to Victor and hugged him tightly. He was crying again. Victor was shocked because Smiley had never made any effort to show Victor any sort of affection. Much less physical touch.

"Aww sugar...don't cry. Isn't this what you wanted? Freedom? If you're worried that I'm going to stop contacting you, I won't. I'll talk to you everyday if you wish. Even if you do decide to leave...I'll never replace you. No one can take your spot as the best assistant I have ever had. No one." Victor was tearing up now.

"I don't want to be abandoned again." Smiley admitted.

"I'll never leave you. I'd rather get two shots in the back of the head than to leave you. And you know that." Victor assured.

"What if I die? Then what will you do?" Smiley asked. He still held onto Victor.

"Then...I'll dance to the tune of your death. I'll laugh, cry, love, and dance until the reaper decides it's my time to go." Victor said. Smiley has heard the phrase "I'll dance to the tune of your death" a thousand times, and every time it comforted him.

"I'm not okay." Smiley said breathlessly. Victor just nodded. He didn't think Smiley would get like this.

"You know what? Forget I ever said that." Victor said. And at this particular moment, nothing else mattered to the two men. It's just them against the world. The only thing that could break this precious moment is a notification from Victor's phone. Which is exactly what happened. His phone rang and in the screen popped up a notification saying "BREAKING NEWS: ACTOR GEORGE VERT DIES AT AGE 23".  Smiley and Victor turned to each other. They had no idea how the news station found out but one thing's clear...they're officially on the run.

(is this considered angst? also sorry the parts are so short)
