It Never Ended With A Smile.

Replacement?

This part includes some Russian so I'll put the English versions of it at the bottom.

After all the tears were shed and the feelings were shared, Smiley and Victor went back to their normal routine. Which consists of Smiley's daily dose of bullying Victor for his accent and Victor trying to comprehend why Smiley makes fun of him for it.

"I will never understand why you torture me with remarks about my accent. I cannot control it, you know." Victor said. Smiley was just there laughing at the statement.

"You'll never understand because you're old. You're twenty seven! Like, how do you expect to understand when your brain can't function properly? Now that was a genuine question." Smiley said.

"You see, I don't know the answer to your question, love. But when I find out I will let you know." Victor laughed. Smiley stared at him. Victor took notice and took Smiley's hand in his.

"Are you okay? Did you see something?"

No response. Smiley just kept staring into Victor's grey eyes.

"Hey answer me!" Victor was getting stern in hopes of being Smiley back to reality. Sadly it didn't work. After a few seconds, Smiley was out cold. He collapsed on the floor, his breath becoming extremely short and quick. His eyes were fluttering but Victor could tell that he was fighting to stay awake. Victor called the Russian help line and soon Smiley was transferred to a nearby hospital. Victor was in the waiting area pacing back and forth. He had no idea what happened and why, soon a nurse came out to fill him in on Smiley's condition.

"Эй, ты! Вы Виктор?" the nurse said. Luckily Victor knew Russian so he had no trouble communicating with people here.

"Эм да я. Почему?" Victor said. He was really hoping for good news. He approached the nurse and she looked up to him. Those eyes looked apologetic for some reason.

"Короче говоря, Эвересту нужна операция. Хотя он может и не выбраться живым...Мне жаль" the nurse explain. She looked upset at the fact that Smiley might not make it.

"Могу я пойти увидеть его?" he asked. He just wanna to see him one last time. The nurse nodded and led him to Smiley's room. Victor saw him and immediately thought about what happened to his ex. He didn't like being reminded of his ex though, it brought back horrible memories. He was soon brought back to reality when Smiley started to move around. He didn't move much in fear of scaring Smiley.

"Victor...? Are you in here?" Smiley questioned.

"I'm right here, love." Victor reassured him.

"What's gonna happen to me?" Smiley had no idea what was about to happened. Victor stepped closer and took Smiley fragile hand.

"You...you're going into surgery. You really need it." Victor muttered. Smiley's grip on Victor's hand tighten.

"Oh. Okay then. Well, is there a chance that I'll die?" Smiley made stared into Victor's eyes. "Well...is there?" Smiley was determined to find this out. Victor just looked away, he didn't want to tell Smiley the truth but he didn't want to lie either.

"Okay, so there is. Amazing. Looks like we're never gonna change the world. Everybody wants to change the world though but no one wants to die in the process, meh they'll find someone to replace me with. Right?" Smiley asked.

"Who said anything about replacing you? I never thought about that. Not that I will replace you if you do die. If anything I'll just quit this whole thing," Victor was being honest. He never wanted to replace Smiley when it comes to this.

"So you'll just quit?" Smiley asked. Then there was a knock on the door.

"Войдите" Victor said. Smiley looked up at him confused. "Russian."

"Ah. Forgot" Smiley whispered.

"Хорошо, так что мы готовы к нему" a new nurse told them. Again Smiley looked up to Victor for translation.

"They're ready for your surgery." Victor translated.

"Oh okay."

Soon, Smiley was in an operation room undergoing a surgery. In 3 hours Victor would find out of Smiley survived or not.

Okay, so here are the translations for the first part of Russian. (V) =Victor (N) =nurse

(N) "Hey you! Are you Victor?"

(V) "Um yes that's me. Why?"

(N) "Long story short, Everest needs surgery. Although he might not make it out alive... I'm sorry."

(V) "Can I go see him?"
