The ringing of the screech was loud in her ears, her body stiff. What she did not expect was to see a herd of hammerheads in her line of sight. Or in their line of sight. This is a bad thing, yet so beautiful to see these creatures, Adela thought to herself, as she did not want things to escalate more. Things could go badly, or things could go right for them.

The hammerhead made the screeching sound like the one before; he kicked his foot two times, looking like it was about to charge at them. Not good. "Jake, do not shoot. You will only make it angrier than it is now." Adela tells Jake, with a voice that had betrayed her when it cracked a bit. "Well, Adela, by the looks of it, this thing is already angry," he tells her. Like he was ready to charge at the hammerhead as well.

Both of them charged at each other, but the hammerhead backed away. Adela, seeing the fear in his or her eyes, runs away with his family. Along with the others that were with him, Jake cheered like he won, but did he, because she could feel something behind them. But Adela knew it wasn't him, knew Jake wasn't the reason for the herd of hammerheads running off. It was for sure something to do with what's behind them. Adela slowly turned her head, cautious to find what was behind them. Seeing that it was a Thanator.

"Umm, Jake, you might wanna turn around for this one," Adela said to him, with panic and urgency in her voice. Jake turned around, his smile dropped. "What do we do?" Jake asked, breathlessly, as he pointed his gun up in the air. "Run? Don't run?" he asked Adela. "RUN!" she heard her mother shout, in panic. Norm and Grace ran towards the aircraft. While Adela and Jake went the other way, with the Thanator on their asses close behind them.

Jake darted through the trees, jumping and sliding underneath the tree roots that they needed to get over. With Adela a few paces behind him, but with a good distance away from the Thanator. Jake and Adela rushed into the hollow tree. Adela is trying to contain her heavy breathing, but also keeping herself and Jake alive the best she can, as much as they don't get their avatars, alright.

Jake then starts shooting at the beast, trying to claw at them, trying to make them out of its lunch to be in its stomach. But he got the gun by using his mouth and throwing it away. "Go, go, go," Jake shouts, pushing Adela out from the hollowed tree and out into the opening. Adela got up and started running, along with Jake, not far behind her. As they were running, Adela heard a shuffling noise coming from behind. Looking over to see that the Thanator got Jake by his backpack. Feeling the panic rise in her chest, which feels like the hundredth time already.

He was struggling to unbuckle the bag, with the Thanator shaking him from side to side. A few seconds later, he finally gets it and starts running, with him being in front of Adela now. Then there was a cliff in front of them, which was a waterfall. So, Jake and Adela jumped into the water without any hesitation. Adela swims to the surface, gasping for air.

Adela got a hold of the root of the tree that was coming out of the ground and into the water. Both of them heard the Thanator scream from above them. Both of them looked at it, as it is going side to side a bit. Jake and Adela looked at each other, then laughed. "Oh my gosh," she spoke. "Come on, let's get out of the water," Adela tells him.

Grace

She looked out of the aircraft, trying to look for Adela and Jake. Grace knows that Adela is going to be alright. But she just doesn't know about Jake. "We have to call it, guys. We're not allowed to run night ops. Colonel's orders." Trudy tells two of them.
