A hummed Jaime heard made her gently open her eyes, noticing she felt lighter this time of her body. Seeing Tara with her hospital gown sitting on the bed facing, holding a baby.
"Hi, babe. Good morning. God, you're so beautiful." Tara expressed her admiration to Jaime, gently holding her hand and giving it a kiss, staring in awe.
"Your face looks like it's in love. Good morning to you too," Jaime replied, smiling, placing her hand on Tara's neck and brushing her thumb on checks while she's looking mesmerized at her. It's their love language to peck each other's cheeks or rub using a thumb.
"Hey, little cutie... she's awake, your mom is awake..." an exciting tone from Tara while the baby is opening her tiny little eyes like listening to her surroundings.
"Babe..I wanted to hold her," Jaime requested.
"Come here, baby," Jaime said, opening her arms to hold the baby.
"I'll breastfeed her." Tara slowly handed the baby slowly to Jaime's arms.
"Okay, babe, let me help you with your clothes," Tara said, kissing her forehead and looking down on Jaime, observing how she breastfed the baby.
"You seemed like a lot of milk," Tara teased Jaime, looking at her bare breast while feeding the baby.
"Stopped. . I just popped a baby. I'm not in the mood for that," she said, but Tara only chuckled.
"Oh, did you see that she seems very hungry?" Tara noticed kissing Jaime on the head again, leaning her weight on the bed.
"She's a big baby; of course she's hungry. I wouldn't have a c-section if she's not," she smiled, paying attention with her baby eyes closed.
"Congratulations, my dearest wife, Jaime," she whispers in her ear. She gives a kiss on her head.
"Congratulations to us both." Jaime included her Tara kissing the baby head.
"And I don't want to get you pregnant again. I almost had a near-death experience watching you both fighting for your life after this little angel was removed from your belly," Tara said coldly. Jaime smiled, then they looked at the baby again.
"What if I wanted it again? Hmm...what will you do?" Jaime giggles.
"Don't you dare..." Tara hugged her gently, sitting next to her. She tries to rub her thumb on her baby cheeks.
"She's not just a baby; she's another member of the Fergusons, Jaime..." sounded proud as she always honors their last name.
"Walter said another celebrity baby!" she smiled looking at the baby.
"Oh, did Walter say that?" Tara whispers.
"Yes, of course she's a Ferguson, and she looks like you when you're a baby, for god's sake." Jaime chuckles again. She tried to keep herself from laughing at her. Might the baby wake up plus her stitches? The wounds are still fresh.
"How many babies do you want, Tara?" Jaime asked her.
"One," she replied instantly, seeing Jaime smiling.
"How about you?" Tara asked, sitting back on the wheelchair.
"I prefer two so she has someone to talk to if life gets hard," Jaime simply replied.
"Make sense, babe. Not like me. I grew up alone all by myself, none to talk except my babysitter, and I have my cousins lucky Ofelia and Olivine are close, but they both had long-term gasps at the thought of it. The one who is overprotective is the other one is a spoiled brat who lost her wife recently," Tara said.
"Did you mean Olivine is spoiled?" Jaime said, covering her chest since the baby is already asleep.
"Yes." Tara speaks gently, still registering those cold, emotionless eyes that Jaime is used to.
"She was here several months ago. She hugged me so tight and never said any," Jaime added.
"Hmmm... suspicious; she hugged you tight," Tara teases.
"She just lost her wife, Tara; it doesn't mean anything to me," Jaime defended.
"She's a player.. and babe, did she grab you butt?" Tara laughed.
"Ugh! For goodness sake, all Ferguson women are players.. Tara except my idol Orianna."
said, rolling her eyes at the same time, blushing at the thought of them visiting."Really, Jaime? That blind cousin apologizes for calling her out that way, but it's our bond; sometimes it's harsh, but we don't take it seriously; we always had our backs no matter what," Tara smiled.
"Oh, she gave me a check last time they visited," she confesses.
"Who? Olivine?" Tara, her brows forrowed.
"No, no... Orianna gave," she replied, looking at the baby silently sleeping. She signaled to lower her voice.
"What for?" Tara whispers this time.
"For personal expenses and the babies need..." she replied.
"Did you accept it?" Tara's ego started to get bruised by the looks of her face while at the same time disappointing herself.
"Yes, I did, but at the same time I don't like to insult them by not accepting it. I didn't use it anyways; it's in my bag. I have my own savings to spend." Jaime insisted.
"Oh god! Jaime...why you didn't tell me? Wait, let me call someone. Can I use your phone?" Tara quickly stood up on her wheelchair, looking for Jaime's phone.
"Wait, don't worry, my brother helped me. Just relax; let's fix that later, she said.
"How much..? I'll pay your brother; send me the details for the transfer," Tara insisted, holding Jaime's phone.
"No.. no.. remember when I said yes to you? I don't marry you for that."
"Come on, Jaime... where already married? We share things, right?" Tara's said moment. She remembers everything in that hallway. Her brother and their other cousin Yansen were having an argument about Tara still being married to her.
"Hey Jaime, are you alright?"
"Did you hear what I say? Is something wrong, Jaime? Are you in pain?" Taras starts to panic.
"Nothing, I just felt hungry, I think," she said, having an alibi not to entertain Tara, diverting her mind no to pay much of her not giving the idea that Jaime is being triggered by her wife talking about marriage. Realized where she will be placed herself.
"I'll order something for you, and next day we are going home. I ask the doctor to release me here. I'm sick and tired of this hospital's ceilings. I need fresh air to breathe," Tara said, looking up.
"And also, I need to buy things for the baby. Ill call housekeeping services to clean the house first, then we will go home with the baby. Also, I need to prepare a little room for her, but as for the moment, we will use a crib placed beside our bed. I can't make something in my state." Tara discusses all the plans whilst Jaime is not there paying attention anymore, wiping those hidden tears caused by the people she loves.
"Im a little bit confused of which part of me these words to place myself by knowing my worth..." Jaime's series of thoughts screaming at the back of her head.
Life always gets ups and downs, but keep going!
Have a nice weekend, everyone! xx
