" Just one summer. "

" ARE YOU SURE YOU HAVE TO GO? "

" I can't stay with my aunt forever, Edmund. "

Olivia and the Pevensies were at the train station. Summer holidays were about to begin, and Peter and Susan had now entered college, while Olivia and Edmund had just graduated school and Lucy had two more years ahead of her. It was 1945, two years after their last adventure in Narnia.

Mr Pevensie and Helen Pevensie were moving to America for six weeks, because the Pevensie father had been offered a lecturing job, but he only could afford to take two more people with him, and so it was decided that Susan was going with her parents.

Peter and Olivia were going to the professor's old mansion for the holidays. Peter was going because he was going to spend his summer studying for a very important exam for college, and Professor Kirke had offered to help him. Olivia was leaving to stay with her grandfather for summer because her aunt was going to take a trip to France, and it was the only place the girl could go.

And unfortunately, Lucy and Edmund had to move to their aunt and uncle's place, in Cambridge, where they would also have to live with their cousin, Eustace Clarence Scrubb ( and he deserved such a name ). Edmund looked to be almost depressed at the idea of moving there.

The boy and Olivia had made various plans for their holidays, because they were finally out of school and both wanted to make the most out of this holiday. 'It is going to be the best holiday of our lives', Edmund had promised. But fate had other plans.

" You can come live with us at my uncle's place. " - Edmund suggested, raising his eyebrows as he held the girls arms. They were currently waiting for the train to arrive, so Olivia and Peter could leave.

" Edmund. " - She raised an eyebrow. - " I don't want to be a bother. I don't even know your aunt and uncle! "

" It was just a suggestion. " - He signed.

Edmund grabbed her hands, and looked at the small piece of wool in her left hand. Olivia noticed the defeated look in his face, and opened a smile for him.

" Hey. " - She called him, and Edmund looked at her face again. - " It's just six weeks. After that, my aunt will be back and so will your parents and Susan. "

" I believe so. " - He shrugged.

" You know so. " - She confirmed. - " I also believe that this would be an appropriate time to share good news. " - Olivia smiled.

She was keeping a secret to herself for a while now, one that she knew Edmund would like. The boy had recently been accepted to the university of Oxford and the boy had been really excited, for it wasn't an easy college to go to. Olivia remembered the big celebration the Pevensies had thrown in order to celebrate the acceptance of their son to a prestigious college.

" I got in. " - She whispered.

" What? " - Edmund asked, confused.

" I got into Oxford. " - She Smiled, and took Edmund a few seconds to realise that she was saying that they were going to college together.

" You're joking! " - He exclaimed, his mouth hanging open.

" Of course I'm not! " - She responded. Edmund felt like he was floating in happiness, and for a moment forgot that he was going to spend six weeks away from her and was going to spend it with his devilish cousin.

" We are going to college together! - He exclaimed, wrapping his arms around the girl's waist. Olivia returned the embrace, pulling the boy closer to him.

" See? It's going to be fine. " - She reassured him. - " Just one summer. "

Edmund breathed in. - " Just one summer. "

" Oi, love birds! The train's here! " - Peter called out as his sisters laughed.

Edmund rolled his eyes, and grabbed Olivia's hands as they joined the Pevensies.

" Shut up Peter. " - Edmund grinned. Peter only smirked at his younger sibling.

Mrs Pevensie, Mr Pevensie and Olivia's aunt approached them, and Peter and Olivia said their farewells to the adults.
And then, Olivia went to the two girls. She hugged Susan first. - " Good luck in America, Sue. " - She said. - " You're the one who needs luck, after all, you are going to live with Peter for six weeks. " - Susan grinned, and Olivia and Lucy laughed.

Olivia turned to the youngest Pevensie. - " I'll see you soon Lu. " - She said, embracing the girl as the youngest rested her face on Olivia's shoulder. The Olmore could feel a tear fall to her shoulder. - " We will be here at the station when you get back. " - Lucy assured.

The two girls broke contact, and Olivia caressed Lucy's cheek. - " Take care of Edmund for me, okay? Make sure he doesn't get into trouble. "

Lucy laughed lowly - " I promise. "

Olivia turned her gaze to both girls. - " We can still keep in touch through letters. " - She reassured.

The girls looked at Peter and Edmund, who were breaking away from a hug, both smiling. The boys looked at them, and Peter opened his arms and Lucy came running to his embrace with tears quietly rolling down her cheeks. Susan followed her sister.

Edmund walked to Olivia again. - " Will you promise to send me letters? " - He asked.

" Only if you do. " - She responded.

" Deal. But I am warning you, my writing is awful. " - Chuckled Edmund.

" Don't worry, so is mine. " - Laughed Olivia.

Edmund closed the distance between them by sealing their lips in a slow and soft kiss. When their lips parted, their foreheads touched and they stayed like that for a while.
The train let out a sound, meaning it was leaving shortly. Edmund signed, and he let go of her. Olivia tried to smile faintly, hopeful.

" Shall we? " - Asked Peter from behind them. Olivia nodded and picked up her luggage from the ground. Peter shakes his head and took the bag from her hands, being the gentleman he was.

As she entered the train, Olivia looked back at Susan, Lucy and Edmund, who were slowly waving at them, together with the Pevensie parents and Olivia's aunt.

Six weeks, she thought.

But little did she know it would be sooner than that.
