The place was still the same as you saw it last time.
Cold wind blowing up from the north that made the dry leaves on the forest floor rustle like living things.
You stood in front of the familiar cave which no one knows exists and you once feared to enter, which held the treasure you needed, where you both lost it. First kiss and first time to each other.
"Where the hell did he go?" you mumbled under your breath when you couldn't find him in the cave.
Tears were still flowing out of your eyes as you sniffled, starting to walk around the forest to search for him.
It wasn't weekend, when you'd usually visit him. So he probably would be taking a walk around his territory to bring dinner.
You knew that you couldn't take him to where you lived. It's like taking a werewolf in his evil forest to a carnival, making him cry when he sees the Ferris wheel, electric green and red tears flowing down his furry cheeks that'd make him look like a boat out on the dark water.
"Idiotic sunshine," you mumbled under your breath, footsteps coming to a halt as you heard the familiar sound approaching you.
Turning around, you looked up at him with red and puffy eyes, startling him a bit.
"What happened?" he asked in his raspy but sweet voice as he bent down, hand wrapping around you as he lifted you up.
"Don't cry. Tell Hobi what's wrong," he added, the other hand lifting up and wiping away your tears as he tried his best not to cut the flesh off your face with his claw that was the size of your forearm.
You held his claw that was gently wrapped around your torso, laying your head on it and the rough skin on the pad of his thumb.
His skin was his crowning glory; thick and red and soft as sin.
Hoseok walked to the cave, settling inside as he made you lie there, curling around you to keep you warm.
"What happened?" he asked again, spewing a spark of fire with his breath across the small fireplace he made for you.
"My parents and the village people kicked me out," you whispered. "Because I'm pregnant."
It would be an understatement to say that he was just too big.
And you can't use protection with that as a fact, though it would've been better than to have an abortion without wanting it or an abandoned baby case.
If protection was involved and then the condom broke, you know how stupid that sounds. It's the reproductive version of the dog ate my homework.
You felt your stomach practically bulge into the shape of a globe when he entered you, and you couldn't believe that your body would be the same shape again.
But it did. Thanks to his healing powers.
His thick liquid seeped out of you- not just liters- it must be gallons at least. It was a lot and ridiculously hot.
The next thing you know after going back home last evening, you're pregnant.
Your village was full of culture and diversity and they follow what their ancestors did.
Thus labeling pre-marital pregnancy as a taboo and throwing you out, telling that you were just fourteen, pregnant, and therefore not innocent.
And, please, being or not being a virgin has nothing to do with your innocence.
That's what this world does. Blame one for everything like the other has no duty.
The world, which Hoseok refuses to live in, has a very serious problem. Poor children still die by their millions. We say that we fight for women's causes, and yet label an unapologetic female professional a slut.
The global rich live in post-scarcity society, while a billion people struggle to get enough to eat. And we're pushing the planet towards a tipping point, where the corals die and the forests burn and life becomes much, much harder.
We have the resources to solve those problems, even now, but politics and economics and nationalism all get in the way. If we could access all those minds, though.
"Hobi-" you halted on your words when you felt warm water wash over your body.
Was it raining inside the cave?
Raising your head up, you found Hoseok tearing up. Thus the reason to why you were starting to drown right now.
But he was fast enough to wipe his tears away and lift you up, changing your position so that you were lying on his other side.
"You must be almost a day pregnant. Shouldn't you be soft, and happy, and glowing? When are we gonna see some glow?" Hoseok asked with a bright smile as you kept looking at his wings.
You wiped the tears off your face. "I'm the size of a house, your kid inside me keeps kicking me in the kidneys, I have to pee every five minutes, my legs cramp, and I can't always get up by myself. I have to roll to the side like a walrus, which isn't harder right now since my boyfriend is near me and he is there to steady me. But I have no idea why this baby keeps growing rapidly. It isn't easy peasy lemon squeezy."
Well, you never understand life until it grows inside of you.
Shaking his head a little, Hoseok placed a chaste kiss on your forehead. "Remember this, for it is as true as true gets: Your body is not a lemon. You are not a machine. The Creator is not a careless mechanic. Human bodies have the same potential to give birth well as aardvarks, lions, dragon hybrids like me, elephants, moose, and water buffalo."
"Even if it has not been your habit throughout your life so far, I recommend that you learn to think positively about your body," he said, a claw trying to untangle the loose knots in your hair.
The world is full of dangers, now that you're pregnant: mercury in tuna, hot tubs, beer, secondhand smoke, over-the-counter medicine. Not to mention crazy baby-abducting fairy kings.
Hoseok wouldn't let you go back there, considering the fact that you've told him about everything that happens outside the forest.
"We'll leave to the mountains by sunrise. Only six of my friends live there and no other humans," he stated.
"Do we get a separate place to sleep and do 'stuff'?" you asked, raising your head up to look at him, though you couldn't tell if he was looking back at you as a shadow fell on his face.
"Pervert," Hoseok replied.
"Me? Pervert?" you asked. "Female and fourteen. What's your point?"
"My point is, you should be sleeping right now. You're having a child," he said.
"If you were going to have a child, of course you should have a say, but how much of a say, since the body is mine, since in creating this child, nature demanded so much of the woman and so little of the man, I decide when I should be sleeping," you said back.
"Oh my god," Hoseok mumbled. "Just sleep," he said to you, taking you in his huge hand and curling even more to keep you warm in the middle of his body.
"Those sweet lips. My, oh my hearteu, I could kiss those lips all night long," he mumbled again.
"Good things come to those who wait. Now let me sleep."
