The five year old boy sat on your lap as he played with your hair, his face showing you his bunny grin.

"Kookie, do you want-"

"I want you," the little boy said, cutting off your words with the same innocent smile.

Laughing out a little, you ruffled Jungkook's hair and kissed his cheek, not able to resist how cute he was.

"Will you marry me, noona?" Jungkook asked you with puppy eyes. "I'll give you sweets every day," he added while cupping your face in his tiny hands.

"But I'm fifteen years older than you," you said and tilted your head to the side, only to see him give the pout he does when he's about to cry.

Tiny tear droplets rolled down his cheeks, making you panic.

"No, no! Don't cry," you said while wiping off his tears, but he only started to cry loudly.

And your classmate, Jungkook's sister, was definitely not going to come out of her room, leaving her make out session with her boyfriend.

"Okay. Let's do one thing," you started. "When you're old enough and I'm still not married, you can marry me," you said and Jungkook's sobs stopped instantly.

"Pinky promise?" he asked in a soft voice before stretching out his pinky finger towards you with a pout.

"Pinky promise," you said while linking your pinky finger with his, a smile on your face as you pulled him into a hug.

Of course. You were definitely going to forget about this whole thing once you go back home.

But not Jungkook.

"Kookie loves noona."

You stepped out into a winter wonderland. Suddenly, the cold air stung your cheeks so you pulled your scarf up closer to your face.

As you looked around, you noticed a white blanket of snow covering the trees, ground, and houses, surprised by how quiet everything seemed.

The only sound you could hear was your boots crunching in the snow as the smell of damp pine trees made the air feel fresh and clean.

You felt so peaceful to be walking in such a magical place, in the sleek midwinter, the sunlight bringing brightness to the snow that reflects upon.

Winter in Washington is why you were so determined to move here in the first place.

Never having a family, you grew up to be alone forever. You loved solitude.

Well, you had a couple of friends during school. But couldn't be in much contact with them when you left Korea for your university studies here.

You remember Jeon Jiyoon, and heard that she got married to her long-time boyfriend, nine years ago, and that her parents died three years after that in a car crash. Her brother should've completed his studies by now.

And what was his name? Jungle book? Juan cook? Juan cock- Oh, it's Jungkook.

You enter Starbucks which was in such honeyed hues, bringing sweetness to the snowy day, coaxing an inner smile on your face that warms from within.
