"Hello?" I answered the collect call and rolled over. I'm so tired and she wants to call now. Not the right time.
"Hey princess. What you doing?"
"Sleep. You calling me at 3am doesn't make sense."
"Imma call when i want to. What you doing?"
"I just said sleep."
"Well wake yo ass up and talk to me."
I whined and sat up in the bed so I could wake up all the way. She's been locked up for a month and should be getting out soon. That's if she behaved well inside. She only had two weeks but keep getting time added because of the way she acts. Usually I ask every phone call, because i've been on the phone several times and heard her arguing with people. Even the police. I hate when she lets her anger take over. That's what they want her to do so they can keep her.
"So...you get out soon, how's your behavior been?"
"I got an extra week."
"What the fuck Beyoncé." I sighed and rubbed my forehead. She just doesn't listen. The end of this week turned into the end of next week so quick. "You just can't fucking listen. You've gotten weeks added so many times. Do you not wanna come home?"
"Mcht of course I wanna come home. I ain't finna let nobody punk me like i'm no bitch either."
"You got the wrong damn mindset to be a jailbird. Nothing but positivity should be up there. Be grateful that they're only giving you that time. Because your ass can still be locked up from killing those people but you aren't. Accept that. Behave. Do what they say until your time is up because I guarantee that when you're gone, they'll still be there. Use your head and stop acting on impulse. That shits dumb."
"Alright nina. I ain't call for all that."
"I don't care what you called for, i'm telling you. You're dumb as shit and need some type of words to sink in your head."
I'm sure I sound like Mami right now and usually I would be horrified. But I really don't care, she needs this. No way you're given two weeks and have had multiple added on to where you're in there for a month and some days. It makes no sense at all. And for her to just get out from doing five years, she should be ready to get the fuck out of there. I know I would be.
"You always talking shit princess." She chuckled and I rolled my eyes. Now she's taking me as a joke. I find nothing I said worth a chuckle.
