CHAPTER 6

'Kaeya, have you talked with Albedo recently? He began his work here' Lisa says.

'No.'

'Hm? Is something bothering you?' Lisa asks.

The two were in a library, Kaeya needed some quiet time, the library was the best option, his room was too messy, reminding him of how sad his life was.

'No.' He responds.

'Did something happen between you two?' Lisa asks, moving around the desk.

Kaeya scoffs, 'I don't know' He ends up saying

'C'mon we've been friends since forever, you can tell me' Lisa sighs, she takes a seat next to him.

'It's not the same, Us, we just... it's awkward.' Kaeya sighs, crossing his arms.

Lisa scrunched her eyebrows. 'You absolutely loved Albedo, how can such a thing break everything between you two?' Lisa asks

Kaeya shrugs. 'I...He made a promise and broke it, twice, how can I trust him?'

'Were you two not kids, I'm sure you can forgive him' Lisa sighs

'No, no, it's different.' Kaeya looks away, frustrated.

'Maybe it's something the two of you should talk about.' Lisa smiles.

Kaeya shook his head. 'I don't even want to see his face.' Kaeya grumbles.

Lisa stood quite for a while. 'What happened with you two?' Lisa says, quieter.

Kaeya felt his eyes tear up, he doesn't want to cry. He can't cry. 'I don't know,' He says again.

Lisa sighs, nodding her head. 'Well, you can't be the leader of the investigation team and hate the chief alchemist, you know you two will have to work properly together with each other'

Kaeya hated the idea of that, he scoffs, again.

'I won't pry into both of you two's personal quarrels, it appears I have a line, I should get going' Lisa glances over her desk, some people lining up to borrow books.

Kaeya nods, standing. 'Thank you'

Lisa smiles in reply, walking off.

Kaeya had come back from Jean's office, another investigation, abyss. Quite humorous to know they used to be humans, like him.

He runs off to his office, checking papers.

After finishing he would continue to walk to the previous alchemist office to collect some data, that was before he was called by Jean.

'Hi jean, what's wrong?'

'Kaeya! Albedo says you haven't talked yet' Jean laughs, in front of the same blonde boy, he looked so different.

Lisa smiles at the two innocently.

Kaeya stared at the two, pissed.

'And I hope it stays like that.' Kaeya says, his jaw clenched.

Jean and Lisa look at him, shocked. 'Come on Kaeya, I know you said something about him...and it hurt you but can't you forgive him? You know, like the 'og'' Lisa tries to laugh. Kaeya didn't find it humorous at all.

Albedo stared at Kaeya.

Kaeya scoffs, 'No,' He thinks about something, almost hesitating before speaking '...now I can understand why Diluc can't forgive me. Because once someone breaks your trust, you can never earn it again.' Kaeya almost growled, he felt the tears but held them back. Jean looked upset and confused,
