Chapter 2

This day has been nothing but exhausting and I completely regret taking Alyssa's shift, I am BEAT. The diner is basically dead, only 4 customers since 5pm, nearing 6:30pm. All I need is my bed and pillow I just know I'll fall asleep so quickly once I get home. I think today I'll skip getting my assignment done early and wait until Saturday to do it. I can use Friday to relax, especially since I am completely free tomorrow.

"Hey" Shay says putting down the coffee pot "I wonder what makes people want to drink coffee at 6:30PM. Is the goal to really stay up all night?"

"Beats me, I could honestly go for some coffee myself. I'm so tired" I yawn

She turns to me and grabs my shoulders lightly shaking me "You're going to the party Saturday night?"

I place my hands on hers "I don't do parties"

"Well this time you are, it's a Saturday where me, you AND Alyssa are off" she states putting emphasis on the 'and'

"I can do chores or something more fun that day" I smile "plus I'm going to take that day to do my assignment"

"You're so boring!" "Ok what if you go with me and Alyssa to help us pick outfits out sometime around noon that day?" She asks me

I just stare at her

"Please?" She pouts like a child

"Ok but only for that." I give in

"Yes!" She shouts "it'll be fun!"

                                   Abel's POV

"I'll be there on Saturday" I say into the phone "I know where to meet already no need to remind me."

"For a junior in high school you sure got a lot of balls kid."

"Just make sure all the money is there, you know what happened last time and I'm sure you'd like to make it home for the holidays this time." I snap into the phone before hanging up

*call ends*

                                   Lorelei's POV

"Remind me again why we can't close early?" Shay says interrupting the silenced diner

"Because my dad will kill all of us if he finds out we closed early" Harrison says stepping out of the kitchen, joining me and Shay at the booth.

"How ironic is it that your named Harrison and your dad is Harry and they picked your brother to be Harry Jr." Shay states "sounds to me that there's a favorite so I say let's close early"

"How ironic is it that you ask for a raise but don't do anything to deserve one?" Harrison smiles at Shay

"See but if I punch you I'm the bad guy right?" Shay rolls her eyes

I laugh

The sound of the bells at the front door being opened break my laugh

"Oh my god" Shay silently says

"What?"

"It's Vinnie"

"Who?"

"That's my cue to go back into the kitchen" Harrison awkwardly smiles before walking away
