"Alice?" I asked. She was right in front of me. "Hi Cass." she smiled.
"B-but how?" I asked confused. I could feel my eyes tearing up.
"I was never gone. I was right here." she held her palm to her chest. My lips trembled. "But you were- you're dead." I said.
"Cass. Life is valuable. Don't just give it away."
"What do you mean?"
"Your plan right now is just to kill yourself. It isn't going to help."
"H-how did you-"
"I know everything Cass. You being gone will just give pain to many people."
"You know I have to. If things get worse than it is.."
"If it get's worse, you hide. Seek help from those you have!"
"Alice." I nodded my head. "You aren't real."
"Of course I'm real. I'm Alice Walker. Your best friend." she said coming closer.
"No no nonono. You aren't Alice. Alice left me! She's the reason I'm here! Here in this- this mess of a place."
"Look. You're getting a chance to save me. You saved my mum, and thus saved me. Now let go, use the time travelling devise. Come back to me in the future. Back to being happy, and homework being one of our biggest problems."
"I can't leave them here though." I said.
"Well if you just die, you're leaving them too." Alice said. I didn't realise that she had come so close. "You have come too far to just die like a coward."
"Well guess what Alice?! I am a coward! I- I can't do this. I can't save them all." I cried.
"It's your choice Cass. Look around. Think wise." she said, and slowly started disappearing. "Alice WAIT!" I screamed.
I suddenly woke up. "Cass you alright mate?" asked Laura.
"Yea. I guess." I said. I was breathing heavy. "You going out with Walter today?" she asked.
"What's today?" I asked. My find was fuzzy.
"Valentines Day? Are you sure you're okay?" she asked. "Positive." I replied.
"Well it's late. That's why I asked." she said.
That's when I realised that she was dressed up. She was wearing a earing while talking to me.
"Evening date. What's the time now by the way?"
"11. You slept in."
Oh shit! I had to meet Anne at 11 to help her choose between two dresses, and then get dressed from there, and leave for the party.
"Thanks Laura! You look lovely!" I said and dashed out the door. I ran all the way to the Hufflepuff common room; people staring at me, since I was still in my pyjamas.
"Someone looks underdressed." Anne said as I entered her dorm room. I gave her a sarcastic smile. She was alone in there. Her dorm mates had already left.
"Okay. So yesterday night, I tried choosing, but I couldn't."
"Considering that you only have 4 dresses for a party, I thought this would be easier." I commented, sitting on her bed.
"Well, the first one I wore way too many times, so that was easy. Then there were three. I narrowed it down to two. Now you chose."
"Fine. I like this yellow one." I said. It was the same yellow dress that she wore to the party. The one that made her more breathtaking than she already is. The second, I don't think I saw her wearing it before.
