Cadence
A few days ago I was cuddled up with my enemy.
Seriously. What the fuck was I thinking?!
No, the only reason why I cuddled into him is because he was warm. I did it for the sake of my anaemia.
"Pass me the salt." Jules holds out her hand waiting for me to give it to her.
We're sitting in a diner, going over psychology notes for our end of year exams. I've decided I'm going to finish this year, then dive head first into managing my parents company.
I want to finish what they started, to rid the world of the rats and scum that litter the streets. I want to do right in their memory. So being done with school will be best for that to happen.
"Cadence. Salt." Jules waves her hand infront of my face pulling me out of my thoughts.
Grabbing the salt I hand it to her with a "sorry".
"What's on your mind?" She asks whilst sprinkling salt on her chips. She's ravaged most of her meal, whilst mine remains untouched. We both ordered burgers and chips, a basic but delicious meal.
"Okay, don't hate me"
"But..." she adds.
"I'm dropping out, I've decided it'll be best if I want to carry on with my parents work. I really want to do good by them Jules."
"Oh babe," she grabs my hands leaning over the table.
"That's so sweet, of course I'm not going to hate you, if you need any help you know I'm up for it." She smiles rubbing her thumb over my knuckles.
"Now, let's eat. I'm starving." She says letting go of my hands and stuffing chips into her mouth.
Giggling, I begin to eat my burger. I have to unhinge my jaw like a snake just to eat the damn thing. It's huge. As soon as I bite into it I groan, it's fucking lush.

"C, it's Ben call me back. I've got big news." 3 hours ago Ben called, we haven't heard from him since he went to the UK.
After the diner me and Jules went back to my place, it's safe to say we had a few too many drinks. It tends to happen every time she comes round.
"Cadenceee" Jules says dragging out the last syllables in my name.
"Yes." I respond.
She's been laying on my kitchen floor for a good twenty minutes. She was originally on the bar stool, but she fell off of it with a thud.
"Can I stay tonight, I'll be gone in the morning. Pinky promise." She slurs, turning over with her pinky held out in front of her.
Her hair is all over her face, if it wasn't for her hair being blonde I'd say she looked like that girl from the Grudge.
"Of course you can." I say whilst making myself a shot of bourbon.
I got so obsessed with vampire diaries, that I just had to buy Brother's bond. To be fair, it's a really good drink. They didn't do half bad, making it.
Throwing back the drink, I shake my head to try and relieve the burn that stings my throat.
"Hey! Make me one of those." Jules stumbles to her feet, almost falling into me as she does so.
If she did we would both go toppling over, I'm barely standing as it is.
I make her a shot and slide it over to her. Making myself another, I spill a little on the counter. I'll clean that up tomorrow.
