There was a knock at the door. Despite it being so late, I kind of knew who it was since there was only one person really visiting me. I went to open the door, already in my pyjama's,

'Hey, what brings you here so late?'

He scratched his neck awkwardly and leaned against the doorpost. His breath smelled of alcohol when he spoke,

'Well, I was out, and I kind of forgot my key. Before you ask, yes I do have a spare one. One of my friends has it, but he is out of town. So now my question was can I crash her for the night? It's just one night I promise.'

He had a pleading look on his face that I just had to make fun of, so while trying to hold back my laugh I teased,

'I don't know.'

I couldn't repress the grin that formed on my face. I found this all rather amusing. Viktor now also had an amused expression covering his face.

'I won't be a burden I promise.' He said.

'Okay, come in then.'

I could exactly let him just stand there. He walked past me and I closed the door behind him. He immediately walked over to his spot on the couch.

'Want water?' I asked him from the kitchen, 'So you can sober up a bit.'

He was clearly under the influence of alcohol. I could smell it.

He laughed and then said, 'Sure.' while walking over to where I stood in the kitchen. He got behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist and nuzzled his face in the side of my neck. Surprised I said,

'What are you doing?'

Or well said, it was more like squeaking, since my voice came out way higher than normal. I was taken back by his actions. I tried to keep in mind that he wasn't sober right now.

'You're sooo pretty.' He said in a sing-sang voice. 'So so pretty.'

His voice was a bit muffled.

Then he started laughing, and his arms loosened around my waist until his hands landed on my hips. He turned me around so that we were facing each other. Then he started laughing again really loud. In an attempt to keep him quite I put my hand over his mouth.

'Shhh!'

'You should see your face right now!' He said when I moved my hand away.

I knew that my face was bright red, due to what he had just blurted out.

'Stop' I whined.

Then he looked at me with a smile on his face. His face came closer to mine until our foreheads were softly pressed against each other. My heartbeat and breathing were unsteady. He had a grin on his face as he brought our bodies closer. Until he crashed his lips onto mine.

Too stunned to do anything, I stood there frozen. After a moment I put my hands on his chest and softly pushed him away,

'Vik, you're not sober.' I said.

'I like you.' He blurted out, out of nowhere.

'What?'

'I like you.' He repeated.

'I don't care that I'm not sober right now, it's still the truth.'

He was intoxicated. He was just saying things.

But people are always more honest when they are under influence of alcohol, aren't they?

No. Stop. He'a only saying things.

'We'll talk about this tomorrow, okay?'

He nodded and released his arms from my body. Then ran a hand through his hair.

'We should go sleeping.' I said, 'I'll get you a blanket and a pillow, just wait here.'

Tomorrow was going to be extremely awkward, if he even remembered this tomorrow. I was not going to bring this up myself, I was just going to wait until he said something about this- which I hoped he didn't. Otherwise I would just let it be.

I handed Viktor the blanket and pillow, and some sweats that were way too big on me, and that I never wore anyways. That would have to do for one night. After awkwardly wishing each other a good night I headed back to my bedroom.

When I laid in my bed, thinking, it finally hit me. Viktor had kissed me. He had told me he liked me. Even if it hadn't been completely intended, something of which I had to constantly remind myself, there was something about the way he said it. Something about the way he looked at me while he said it.

The next morning Tom came into my bedroom. I was already awake. Tom sat down on the end of my bed.

'Why is Viktor sleeping on our couch?' He asked.

'He forgot his key, and his friend who has the spare one is out of town. So he asked if he could stay here for a night.'

'Oh, well maybe you should wake him up. I wanna watch TV.' Tom said.

'Why do I have to do that?'

I was still very tired, and all I wanted was to go back to sleep for a couple of minutes. Just a few more minutes.

'Because he's your guest, not mine.'

He's ten, why was he so smart? I groaned and got up. I walked over to where Viktor was sleeping on the couch. He looked really cute with his hair all messy.

No stop. Why am I thinking about that?

Events from last night flooded back into my mind.

What if he remembered?

What if he did tell the truth?

What if he liked me?
