'Good morning.' I heard Viktor say from the living room. I immediately became nervous. Would he remember?

Okay. Calm down, act normal.

'Good morning.'

We sat down at the table in the kitchen for breakfast, while Tom went to watch TV. Tom had his breakfast in the living room. I had tried to get him to eat here, but that failed.

'So, uhm.' Viktor started. And I knew that he had remembered. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, and I could feel the tension between us. 'So..' I repeated.

'About last night,' He paused again, and scratched the back of his neck. I nodded.

'I wasn't exactly sober, and-'

'No, it's alright. You don't have to explain.' I cut him off. I didn't need to hear this.

'Please, let me finish.' He looked at me with a pleading look. When I stayed silent he continued, 'That I wasn't sober, doesn't mean I didn't mean what I said.'

I was completely stunned, 'I'm sorry, what?'

He grabbed my hand, 'I like you, Mary.' He repeated those exact same words he had said yesterday. The exact same words that got my heartbeat racing. The exact same words that left me speechless.

'I understand if you want me to leave..' Viktor said and already began to stand up. I knew I had to do something, but I just sat frozen in my spot. I wasn't prepared for this. Yes, it had been a possibility. I didn't think it was reality. I stood up as well and ran towards the front door. I was just in time to stop him from opening it by pulling him back by his arm and placing my lips on his. I could feel he was surprised by my actions, but his arms slid around my waist nonetheless, while my arms wrapped themselves around his neck. The electricity could be felt stronger than ever and shot through my whole body. When we pulled apart I told him, 'I like you too.'

Viktor looked at me with a mesmerizing smile on his face, and placed a kiss on my forehead.

For a second I doubted my actions. What had I done? Yes, I thought I liked him. But wasn't this too early to say? What if it was only because he had listened and helped me? What if I didn't develop feelings for him, but for what he had done for me?

'Does this mean I can get a date sometime?' Viktor's voice shook me out of my thoughts. I was still tangled up in his arms. Without putting much thought into my words I nodded and said,

'Yes.'

Viktor pulled me closer to him and hugged me. His strong arms tightened around my waist. And soon my arms found their way back around him, too. We stood there for what seemed like hours. And for a split second all my previous doubts disappeared.

'Kait, I need to talk to you.' I said as soon as she picked up her phone.

'What? What happened?'

'It's about Viktor. I'll explain later, can I come over?'

'Yeah, yeah sure.'

We said our goodbyes and I made my way over to Kaitlin's. When she opened the door I hugged her and she invited me in.

'So now, what's up?' She looked at me curiously.

'Well, it's about Viktor.' She had a stupid grin on her face when I said that.

'Continue. I'm all ears'

'He was at my apartment, last night and before we went to sleep-'

'Wait, he slept over? Oh my god, Mary!'

'Yes, but it's not what you think!' I quickly said to her.

'He forgot his key and slept on the couch just for one night. But that's unimportant-'

'Unimportant!?' She exclaimed.

'Believe me it is. Well see, he was drunk, and then he kissed me and told me he liked me. But he was drunk, as I said. I didn't know if it was the truth or not, but then this morning he said he meant what he said.'

By now Kaitlin was already freaking out, 'Oh my god.'

Then I continued, and told her the rest. About what I had done afterwards.

'Wow, I didn't know you had it in you.' She giggled.

'But here's the thing... I don't know if I really like him.'

'What do you mean you don't know? You should see yourself when you talk about him!'

'Maybe I only like what he did for me?' I questioned.

'How do you feel when he's around? How do you feel when he touches you? How did you feel when he kissed you? Think about that, Mary. Then you'll find out soon enough what your feelings mean.'

'Thank you, Kaitlin.' I said and hugged her.

Her words really got me thinking.
