Diane ponders what releasing her anger would do to her. How it would change her. Yet she can feel the power from it calling to her. Begging to be unleashed finally. All the hate she's held in since she was but a girl.

The normals killed her family, and when she had the chance to kill, she had shown mercy. When she wanted to live a normal life, they continued to invade, forcing her to live in fear. After she separated the lands and was an outcast, she tried to live a normal life again. Her reward? She was hunted, and the one person she thought she could love was killed because of her. They continued to hunt her, to torment her all for something she never asked for.

Now the normals were here again, trying to take everything she'd ever done and take it from her. The normals would never change. Maxus would never quit until he had what he wanted. All that mattered was having the strength to survive, and stop anyone who stood in your way.

All that mattered was power, pure, undisputable power. Diane looks up at the memories of she's ever held onto that kept her anger alive. Diane looks back down to herself in fire, the hand was still outstretched. Diane with her should be missing right arm clings to the hand.

A rush of energy shoots through her like lightning. The amount of it and its burning heat inside her veins drops her to a knee, unable to pull her hand away now. Diane's eyes shot open, she was still on the ground after being hit by Maxus earlier. Diane is on both knees, doubled over in pain. Another rush of power rolls through from her pain, and her back arches like an angry feline. Diane grits her teeth trying to contain the wild energy surging through her. Another rush comes through that forces Diane upright, but only to one knee. Diane tightens her fist and looks down at her arm. Her veins burned red through her skin, all the way from her hands, up her arms, and across her back. The power continued to spread. Another rush hits Diane and pops her to her feet. Diane strains and grunts trying to control the wicked energy coursing through her when a devilish voice whispers in the back of her mind.

"Why try to control it?" Diane knows the voice is her own, but its anger is somewhat foreign to her. Yet she can't deny its unspoken request. Diane closes her eye and relaxes her fist. The energy inside flows now, unabated by her previous resistance. Diane lets out a smooth breath and opens her eye slowly. It shimmers and from a dull amber lights a bright red flame.

Without warning her power explodes around her. The shockwaves that ripple out shatter the ground around her. The cracks spread across the island and into the ocean around the island. The ocean rises in a large wave all around before coming crashing back down. From the top of her head, a line of flame swings down across her face, through her legs, then back up again. Perfectly cutting her in half. When the circle is complete, the entire left side of her body is wrapped in fire. Her missing left eye burns a wild flame in its place.

Diane takes in the scene in front of her. Lydia is fighting Maxus with a power she's never seen. As painful as it is to admit, Lydia had surpassed Diane during her time in her mind. Even though that same power would likely stand against Diane someday, that was not her biggest concern. Maxus still stood, and he needed to fall. Diane averts her gaze to Maxus and begins marching toward him.

Diane shoots forward and sends rocks flying behind her. She connects with her left fist across his cheek. She drops to the ground and sweeps his feet from under him. Completing a full spin she springs up from the ground and knees him in the side then kicks him, his body rolling across the ground. Diane flies towards him again and knees him in the face. Diane grabs him by the arm, swings him over her and onto his back. She lands next to him and kicks her foot through the ground to hit him in the side. Maxus sails through the air and lands on his feet, furious.

Diane charges him again and Maxus manages to catch the punch in his hand. Diane brings back her right shoulder and from her stub where it was cut an arm of fire stretches out.

"What the" Diane roars and swings her new arm and it connects right to Maxus' nose. Maxus is sent flying again and lands on his back. Diane lands on her feet and rolls her shoulders. She assumes her usual fighting stance with a grunt. Through gritted teeth flames seep out with her breath and Maxus once again rises.

Maxus and Diane charge one another now. They lock knuckles twice before Diane slips a left hook into his ribs. Maxus swings and Diane blocks it with her right arm and glares at Maxus. Her right was no longer exposed like it used to be. Diane uppercuts Maxus and pops him into the air. She digs a knee into his chest then his chin, then shoots a powerful fireball into his face. Maxus flips backward once and lands on his feet.

Diane flies to him and the ground under Maxus comes up and strikes him in the chest. Diane lands in front of him and punches through her own rock to hit him in the stomach. Diane swings her other fist as her fire hand reaches into her hoodie pouch. Diane connects with her punch and flows into a spin as her scythe comes back out.

Diane slashes so quickly that it looks like her entire body is a blur of motion, but the streaks of blood that come out from the successful slashes are unmistakable. Maxus gains cuts across his chest, torso, arms, legs, and everywhere as he fails to evade the endless array of slashes from close range. Maxus shoots a fireball at Diane and she slows down and leans backwards to let the attack sail by her chest. Maxus goes to fire another one, but Diane pushes his hand away as it fires and it misses in the ground next to her. Diane throws the scythe up behind her back as she shoots a fireball into his chest. She leaps in the air and kicks Maxus in the neck, sending him backward.

Diane catches her scythe above her head and drags it through the ground as she charges him. She swings it upwards up at him and across for his head. The slashes that miss cut through the air and rip up the ground. Maxus evades the attacks and swings at Diane. Diane blocks the attacks with one hand and swings with the other, putting Maxus in very awkward positions. Diane hops in the air and shrinks the scythe back into cube form as she spins and kicks. One, two, a third powerful kick that staggers Maxus then a rock from the ground that knocks him back.

Diane's toes touch the ground and she's in his face again. Diane punches and kicks with lines of fire following behind them. Although after she misses the flames do not disappear, they remain stagnant in the air. Diane leaps and brings her heel down towards Maxus and he backs up out of the way. All of the flames left in the air crack like whips where Maxus stands and he leaps high in the air to evade.

Diane meets him again and hits him twice in the stomach before grabbing the back of his head. Diane slams his face into the ground and stomps on his back then jumps in the air above him. She pulls her arm of fire back and shoots a massive wave of fire at him that swallows the area whole. When it hits the ground it sends shockwaves all around that threaten to even knock the dome protecting the city down. Maxus appears from Diane's side and lands a clean shoot to the cheek that sends Diane to her back. Maxus charges forward and as Diane flips off her back she kicks Maxus in the chin.

Diane leaps and punches him in the chest hard. When he meets the ground, he digs a line in the ground where his body drug through. Diane lands and assumes her stance again. The flames that perfectly cut her down the middle and lit up her left side were spreading. They now covered her entire nose and part of her right eye. Her power was continuing to fester and grow inside her. She still had more anger to let loose.

They charge again and lock their knuckles. Craters across the island form from their force colliding and rippling through the area. Diane swings hard with her right and connects with Maxus' face. Maxus swings back and connects twice with Diane's body. Diane connects twice with Maxus' cheek and brings her knee up into his stomach. Maxus's body folds against the hit, and he lets out a whiff of air. Diane swings again and again, knocking Maxus back with each hit. Maxus swings and Diane ducks under the hit and sends a shot of her own. Maxus falls to his chest and looks up at Diane weakly.

"How... How have you done this!" Maxus shouts up at her trying to get up to his knees but failing. Diane stands over him.

"It's simple. I am Diane Bordovin! The strongest mage alive!" Diane flexes and a mountain of fire erupts from her mouth before she glares back down at him. Diane places her boot on the back of Maxus' neck.

"And this will be the last time this is ever a question." Diane grabs Maxus by the back of his collar and picks him up to his feet. Her eyes burn hot into his and fear spreads across Maxus' face. Diane pushes him onto his back and opens her palm. Fire from across her body flows to her hand and shines against Maxus' skin. The flames release and swallow Maxus whole. The flames continue to eat away at Maxus for a long time. When they do finally end, nothing remains. No skin, no muscles, no bones. Maxus was completely gone from existence.
